Had to book dinner at 5.30 as the 8pm was booked. Little early for a dinner session. Over meals are very well priced, portions are great. Wasn’t happy for the meal we had to get only 2 small watery dipping sauces. Would have been nice to have condiments on the table
First time here.nBig place with indoor and undercover outdoor seating.nHas large tables as well as booth seating.nThe food is delicious. Meat platters to share yummy.nDesserts like sticky date pudding, cake and hot apple pie and much more.nEnjoyed the atmosphere and great range of drinks.
Came here for Mother's Day lunch as I desired ribs. Unfortunately quite disappointed as they were dry to the point where I had to rip the meat off the bone with my teeth rather than pull off with a knife. Only the sauce saved their edibility. If it hadn't been a special lunch with my family, I would have sent them back. Maybe if staff had checked one we started eating, I would have sent them back. Asking at the end of the meal was too late. And even then the only response to replying that everything was in fact dry, was to 'pass that on'. That included a Branksy burger, 300g plate for 1, and BBQ roll. The Mac N Cheese was bland and overcooked.nNot worth travelling 40 minutes for.
I’m struggling to understand how this place has gotten so many 5 star reviews… The “brisket” and baby back ribs were horrendously dry refer to photo for said brisket - none of the ‘melt in your mouth’ or ‘fall off the bone’ goodness you’d generally attribute to good American BBQ. The Mac and cheese was as flavourful as baby food and I’m not sure if the cornbread was made from corn or bananas. Overall, this was an unpleasant experience in an overstimulating environment. Would not recommend.
We tried the meat platter and fries—while the portion was generous, the meat lost heat quickly, likely due to being served on a metal plate. The fries, however, were brought out first, well before the meat, which felt a bit off in terms of timing. The quality of the meat was decent but not exceptional; it’s tasty enough for a local meal, but not worth a special trip from the CBD. The staff experience was hit or miss—some were friendly and attentive, while others seemed less enthusiastic and not particularly helpful. It’s a fine choice if you're in the area, but there are likely better options for those venturing further afield.
