New Pan Asian Cafe & Eatery, we offer a variety of cuisines from across Asia. Entrance & parking located on Wilkinson Rd, Penrose

Story

At Big Fish Eatery we take pride in serving a modern take on traditional Pan Asian cuisine. We are inspired by bold Asian flavours, beautiful produce and fresh ingredients to create authentic tantalising dishes.

Each ingredient is treated with respect honouring each country, each dish and each bold flavour, Sweet, Salty, Spicy and Sour.

Got there early. Staff were cleaning the chairs and floors while we were eating which I think should’ve been done prior to opening. Delicious food but expensive for the amount you got. The duck salad was not worth $25- it was mostly lettuce ...with minimal duck. The lemon tart was perfect. The salted caramel tart was too rich.

Always a good experience dining at Big Fish! Nice, small restaurant with a wide range of Asian fusion dishes. Staff are friendly and your glass of water will never run out 😉 - recommend the Salmon Teriyaki and all the desserts! Especially the macaroons 🤫

This place is indeed a hidden gem in Auckland. As it is in Penrose you wouldn't normally consider heading to that area for lunch but you will be pleasantly surprised with Big Fish. Food is outstanding. Quality and freshness is maintained. We went a few days ago and one of our orders of Teriyaki Salmon took about 40 minutes longer then the other mains which came out. Three different staff members came to our table and apologized which I thought was very impressive. I understand these things happen and I always have a lot of respect for restaurants who are honest and address the issue directly. The manager was so pleasant and served my partner a double amount of salmon to say sorry for this and ALSO provided a free dessert which was to die for! Great customer service and this only made me admire them more as they are so respectful to customers. I highly suggest you go here and eat in the outdoor area, its so comfy! Thanks for everything guys will be back soon!

Small dark but charming place that's not easy to find down the end of a random street but delicious food once you find it. Would recommended booking in advance as this small resturant gets filled up pretty quickly. Been here a few times and would definitely visit again.

Easily, one of the best fusion restaurants in Auckland. The quality, flavours and price-point have brought us back a number of occasions. Big Fish can expect our continued patronage :)
