"We are a Hairdressing and Barbering training Academy. Although we are open until 6pm our last Haircut bookings are at 4pm and last Haircut/Colour bookings are generally at 3pm.No appointments are required for the Barber shop. First walk-in is at 10am. We close for lunch 1pm to 2pm. And last walk-in is generally 4pm however this may be earlier depending on how many clients are waiting.Remember, we are training facility and services may take a little longer than a professional salon. We do however endevour to provide a professional service to all our clients."

Very happy with the outcome of my visit to Biba Academy! I had both highlights & high lift applied to my hair on recommendation from the educator -- I originally came in requesting highlights, and Mona did a fabulous job of applying them. I then had an amazing haircut by Tennessee, who also styled by curls perfectly! And all this was done for a very reasonable price compared with other salons in the area. My 13y.o son typically hates getting his hair cut but the his experience here totally has changed his perception. He loved the attention to detail his student hairdresser gave him over what seemed like a 2hr cut whereas he is used to the standard sub 15 min buzz cut from a barber. The best $15 cut ever! Exceptional value for money where teams of students are crafting their skills with experienced stylists guiding them.

used to love going here but my most recent experience wasn’t great. prices have gone up and there feels like less supervision-meaning I didn’t get the hair cut I asked for even though I had reference images for inspiration. also didn’t really get the opportunity to get a supervisor to fix it as he just said good cut and that I was done. I agree it wasn’t a bad cut, but not at all what I went in asking for. used to be great but now I see it very much as beginner cuts.Service:&nbsp;Hairstyling

I am so happy with my experience at Biba Academy, I've been twice now and both times once for haircut and once for colour and will continue to return. My student hairdressers were lovely and skilled. Their teachers were fantastic at educating and had a fantastic way of leading their students. I never fail to leave this salon without a massive smile. The quality of the service here and the friendliness of the staff is incomparable! Maz is always down for the challenge of crazy dyes and always has me leaving with perfect hair. Whilst the services take a bit longer because they are students it’s a great environment to catch up on work, reading and leisure while getting my hair done! Marilyn and her team were AMAZING! A Very professional, fun and vibrant place. I had a wonderful experience at Biba. I'm loving my hair colour and cut. The team at Biba are awesome, so friendly and totally hilarious. The prices are really reasonable too. Thanks y'all.

I was never too fond of getting hair cuts at the hairdressers after few bad experiences, but this might be the worst. I asked for something 70s inspired, to have face framing layering done, and my fringe to be fixed up. It is not too hard of a request, in consideration there are professionals there and a lady who was “experienced” did do my hair! The student was a little too confused, which is understandable so the professional took over. She didn’t talk to me thoroughly enough on what she was going to do, and she cut me bangs. Short bangs. Which does not suit me personally, it’s like she lied to my face and told me whatever she was cutting the end result would look good when  really it was pure utter deception. I didn’t appreciate it and I left unhappy with people noticing the blunt cut and the baby hairs sticking out from these bangs. I take my hair as my number one priority within appearance and I feel as if it cannot be fixed only time will assist me with that.Service:&nbsp;Hairstyling

Thanks to Louisa the supervisor I’m happy with the cut.Nice environment in there.She always do awesome customer service and in the Same time she is taking good care of all the customers by watching and supervising the students with amazing smile, honestly I drive to this place only because I feel safe when she is around she is always around doing massive effort to keep everyone happy , best cuts and great place.

I called the salon prior and was quoted around $75 - $80 for having my regrowth colour done, made the appointment and went in the next day. Upon leaving I was charged $110 for regrowth in a teaching salon!! Tony and Guy teaching salon in South Melbourne charge $50 for long hair colour! My normal hairdresser who was not a student charges $90! This is a student salon and certainly was not worth the money paid!!!Service:&nbsp;Hair coloring
