Don’t work at a children’s hospital if you can’t be nice to its customers. People are there for a reason and being rude and cold is just sad. Maybe show some warmth and kindness toward people who are obviously going through something really hard with their children. You can’t even respond to reviews. Guess it’s all about the $$$Food: 1/5
I eat at this place whenever we are up at the hospital. The food is fresh and filling, it has a good selection and it really takes you away from the hospital vibe. Eftpos is available and I really like the new layout they have, it makes it much more open at the checkout area.
My child has a medical condition which involves regular appointments, admission. I usually order coffee and my child likes to eat their chicken burgers. Today I purchased a chicken caesar salad I was only eating lettuce there were few peices of grilled chicken and crouton and I was just eating and the lettuce was never ending. When I approached the front desk for payment I raised the issue of the salad situation and they didn't bother with my issue or aknowledged what happened. They charged me full price and I was very upset with the customer service as they didnt take my considerations into account. I don't think I'll be purchasing my coffee or food from here anymore.
The Bear Brasserie is one of the main cafes at the Children's Hospital. I ordered the kid's cheeseburger for my son and he said it tasted really good. I do agree with others that the staff can be a bit rude and they don't seem to care or listen.Food: 5/5
Thank you for making basically the best bacon and egg roll I've had in hospital. Soft poppyseed bun, melty American-style cheese, two eggs, oodles of bacon, BBQ sauce. It definitely helped today!
The rudest head taking orders - she is so bad, it's like a hospital cafe parody. Their location and the lack of alternative options are the only things on their side... Any new competition will deservedly sink them. Also, pick-up the pace.
Great food, chefs do a really great job at their cooking and plating up. Coffee is decent. Front of house staff, especially the manager/owner, are rude and uncaring, and inconsiderate- considering it's location is in a children's hospital and 50% of their sales come from tired carers and parents who stay at the hospital for long periods of time with their ill children. Every time I've been there with my sick child, so I can have some form of normalcy and enjoy a coffee and lunch date away from the beeping and nurses, I've felt like I was being an inconvenience with the looks and attitude I got. The only reason it's always so busy is because it's the only cafe in the entire hospital grounds that serves decent food and quick coffee. Attentiveness and empathy go a long way. Vegetarian options: Falafel, beetroot hommus and avo salad is amazing!
Great place to catch a break. The food is always great and worth the price and the staff are always nice. Seating options are plentiful and the seats at the front are great if you have an IV trolley in tow even with a pram and they are very accomodating to find you a spot if needed. Cant rate the coffee as i dont drink it but there are always plenty of doctors drinking here over starbucks. Well worth a visit if you are at the childrens hosptial. Definatly try the omlette its perfect.
This place could be smashing it if they change the way they operate it. Its quite busy right now as unfortunately its the only decent looking cafe in the Children West Meat hospital. Back in Sydney to dine in a fancy looking cafe u would pay around maximum 15$ for a massive bacon and egg roll with avocado. Here for 9$ you would expect a bit better than just an over priced Mcdonalds b&e. To be honest Mcdonalds does a better job for $4.5. Right after order i would expect them to cook it for at least 5 mins before the food was out on the table. It only takes them literally and i swear im not making this up, less than 60 seconds. Bacon was tough and chewy like chewing gum n it was explained that they use beef bacon so fair enough. Mayb cook it a little longer so its not as raw and chewy. Theres an egg of which looks like it has been premade and all they had to do was to heat it up. Egg was well done so its impossible to cook it well done in less than 60s. Must be pre-cook. I hope the owner does give a damn about his business because this feed back is my only way to reach out to u. Honestly, ur cafe has so much potential being in one of the busiest hospital in NSW and u have zero competitor here.
The most rudest staff I have ever come across, the scarfed ladies that work there which I believe are the also the shop owners, have such an attitude, they don’t have any courtesy towards customers. When I told them about my order which was wrong they did not care whatsoever, they had the biggest b**** face towards me and I felt so uncomfortable. For the money I spent there I’m not happy at all with the overall experience. They have no respect or manners at all. Mind you they’re overpriced and they take advantage being the only restaurant in the hospital . Disgusting customer service!!!
