Great place to visit the price was fantastic for the amount of things we got to do. The museum is quite interactive with things that you can play with and even dress up in clothes from the olden days. We spent over 2 hours looking at everything and even got to pan for gold. If your in the area and looking for something to do it is well worth the visit and staff were really friendly too

This visit was a revelation. Little did I realise what an amazing experience I was to witness. The whole set up was superb and the various items were very well exhibited. The tribute to Webb and Russell was very moving and very tastefully done. I liked the interactive nature of the museum which pleased the youngsters I observed as I walked around. The reception staff were very helpful and only too willing to assist where possible. Highly recommended.

Arriving early we missed the opportunity to watch the restored workings electing instead to walk the town to catch the historic buildings and talk with locals. Many businesses are for sale here and although there is some interesting history regarding the mine the townsfolk are desperate to find tourist draw cards for good financial returns

Well to me was my highlight of west coast of Tasmania,It was amazing that we are no smarter day present as they were in the past we just add computers and paper work "politics" to operate it.I worked in the minning industry. Totally worth the price and the walk.
