We arrived around 9pm. I took couple of minutes to sit us down. A nice waitress but with lack of English took our order. I ordered beef tenderloin medium. What I got I have never seen such a bad steak. A chef probably wanted to go home early or didn't want to wait until the steak is done so he cut that beautiful piece of meat in half and put it back together thinking that i wouldn't notice. See pictures I wasn't even offered a pepper. I'm sorry but I ordered $30 meal. When I asked if I could talk to a manager she replied that there is no manager. They left our table unattended so I had to go to the counter to pay. Another waitress behind the bar was on her phone so I was waiting another couple of minutes to fix up my bill. We left really upset and we'll never come back.
We went for Mother's Day - it was so bad it was embarrassing. The service was terrible - the food was average at best and the prices were definitely not worth it. I can't believe the cost of a tea was $5 and it took them an hour to bring out. Everything was an extra - not even a spot of garnish on the plate and everything was over cooked. We ordered a poached egg and spinach - two poached eggs on a plate by themselves and then five minutes later two over cooked toasts arrive and a third plate with a couple of pieces of spinach. The pancakes were not cooked through...the list goes on.
Worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant and that's a big call. Owner was rude, staff not trained properly, waited almost two hours for food, mixed up orders, overcharged for our table, several mishaps and no refund was given. Refunded for the overcharge the next day and spoke to the owner who was completely rude, gave us attitude and was very defensive. Zero customer service. Joke of an experience. Had famous people in the restaurant when we were there and I bet they got treated better than we did. Could've gone to maccas and had better experience.
I am disgusted and appalled at how this business is run with extremely poor service and incompetent staff. Considering that most of the time the place is empty, you would think that when locals actually step foot into their establishment, they would be treated with some respect. Not at this this place, after standing at the door waiting to be seated and watching another patron complain for 5 minutes about her order, we were noticed but not one staff member greeted us. After calling over to the bar asking if we could have a table, we were told that's there's no seat even though the place was half empty. We were told by the very rude woman who should never be in a customer facing role ever that we could sit outside before walking away. Outside was not suitable as it was drizzling and it was cold so we by the bar which was empty. Again we waited whilst a bunch of incompetent waitresses walk around aimlessly. Just when we were about to leave my husband noticed the same woman walk into the bar, so I asked for the menu. I don't know whether she was stoned or just plain stupid because she just looked at us blankly. I asked for the menu again and she responded with "are you sitting outside?" I had lost my patience at this point, we had wasted 10-15min. I didn't see a problem with us sitting by the bar which was empty I might add and we shouldn't have had to wait 10-15minutes to get a menu so I told her what I thought. By that stage there was no way we would have stayed but she had the nerve to tell us that there was no service for us. Ha! Some people, if I owed that business she would be out of a job in a heart beat and if for some reason you're wondering why your restaurant is always empty it's probably because of people like her working for you. On a happier note, the cafe next door Marini Cafe is amazing. The moment we walked in, we were greeted with smiling faces and even though we had to wait a little, the staff made it a pleasant experience. If your considering trying out Bazara, don't! Read the reviews pretty much all of this is BAD.
This place is horrible. Took my folks here for breakfast and not only did we wait for over 45 minutes to revive it, my poached eggs were hard and toast/bacon was cold. My partners avocado toast never came and we ended walking out. Admittedly we were offered freshly cooked meals, however we opted to pay for our coffees and went to another cafe around the corner. I won't be coming back.
Food was absolutely terrible, you would think poached eggs would be runny, but was like a rubber egg. Corn fritter had an Asian flavour which was not mentioned on the menu. Service was average, the waitress doesn't seem to know much about anything. Will never return.
We waited for over ten minutes for service, there were waiters talking at the bar, the place wasn't busy at all. I ordered at the bar in the end. The waiter that eventually brought our three drinks had a real bad body odour smell that lingered. We were then over charged for the drinks, as it was happy hour and had to point that out.
This place is so disappointing! Three owners since opening, last Italian crew were brilliant. Now there's a new Mexican theme. Peak Sunday brunch time of 11.30 I was just left sitting, when I asked if I could order, they said kitchen was closed for a break before lunch. Staff just busy clearing tables and looking confused. Don't go !
What has happened to this place! It is the perfect location in Maroubra. They have been so up and down a few months back they got a great chef, the seafood platter was unbelievable it was so good! Apparently the weaker chef has taken over the place terrible! Always closed incompetent staff rude, they even left my bacon off bacon & eggs! Wake up it is a disaster it is filthy just look out the back as well. You need to get that great chef back the Brazilian one!
Just finished vomiting 2 hours after returning from "breakfast" at this disgusting hole. There was a very good reason for all the empty tables on such a beautiful Sunday morning. All 4 of my family had rubbish served to them. Poor food, poor service and I literally vomited afterward. Should be demolished. BTW, Nigel Dawes must own this place.
