Called in to have coffee but unfortunately Cafe closed so just had look around shop. One half of shop has a fantastic range of items for yourself, for gifts and particularly for kids. All with that old worldly English look that families in this area aspire too. While other half had Xmas range, indoor plants, different size pots and garden needs. Brought sweet little spray bottle, did i need no, as husband said only have 1 indoor plant!. Very cute and will come back to visit Cafe.
Long time between visits to this place. More interested in the cafe than the nursery. Ate here pre-covid, but only a chai latte this time at a sun-soaked table for two ok on a cooler day, maybe not summer Nothing much had changed. The plethora of plants provide a fantastic setting for a drop in visit this was a quiet Friday around 10ish Staff were super friendly and efficient. Might have helped that my coffee buddy was a long time regular there Will recommend this on the basis of aesthetics alone
As a Sandy local, the standard of cafes in our area is very high. At this cafe, the prices certainly were up to scratch but the food and coffee were not. I paid $30 for two glorified potato cakes and a coffee. Two tiny tuna can-sized, ultra-flat rostis, a sprinkle of spinach leaves and 8 slivers of onion is what formed my meal. The ambience of this cafe is genuinely lovely but the food/drink was a let down. Service was standard. Some music outside certainly wouldn’t go astray. I likely won’t return to this cafe.
Enjoy the lunch/ brunch menu and bringing my 93 yr old grandmother here to eat and to stroll through the nursery and look at the plants. Food servings are generous and tasty. The lady in the cafe with the pony tail I think her name is Karen is just divine. Friendly, hardworking and makes coming here so pleasant. She could teach the staff in the nursery gift shop a thing or two about service with a smile! Given Karen a pay rise, she’s a gem!
Very very expensive. Had a chicken sandwich, pancakes with berries with a small amount of cream and 2 cups of tea and paid over $50. Certainly not worth it. Sat on very uncomfortable chairs with no cushions but others had cushions and were offered. Staff were exceptional though. Great service. I think our waitress was the wonderful Karen! Drop your prices to what the food is worth and we’d happily return. Plants had a massive mark up. $50 for a spider plant. Ridiculous Won’t be back when there are many other cafes charging so much less.
The adjoining Cafe hosted my daughter's small wedding reception and did a terrific job, very helpful and delicious food. The nursery has a very nice selection and helpful people and the attached shop as well. A nice place!
Conflicting advice and poor after sales service. I bought a few mature plants from here recently and was sure to check with the nursery expert on my selections and how they were to be used, positioned, care and assured was all good. After a week the plants were visibly not doing well called and sent an email asking why and was given completely different advice and told to do things that conflicted with the other advice given ... pretty frustrating to say the least and was very much your problem not ours. Another week goes by and more problems, but of course now there is no reply to emails or call backs. I'll take the hit where its warranted but buyer beware. I like to support local and but my advice is for your bigger plant purchases I would look elsewhere if your not an expert.
We came back here a second time because the hollandaise sauce and chai lattes are excellent and we will continue to come back for the friendly and helpful staff, particularly regarding our puppy who got space outside, dog biscuits, her own water and lots of pats!
Always great for a relaxing weekend coffee and walk around the nursery.
The food was fantastic, and one of the best iced coffees I’ve had in my years. Karen took our booking on the phone and was our waitress, and was 10/10 both times, super friendly. Would highly recommend this cafe.
