Had a mild heart attack and was treated here in Kawakawa over Kings Birthday weekend. Doctors, nurses and ancillary staff couldn't be more empathetic, thorough, professional and caring. Treated with humour, respect and patience at all times. Made me feel better about humanity and a multi-racial society. Wouldn't hesitate to be treated here again.nIf food had been a tad better, the place would've been faultless!
Amazed at the brand new hospital facade. There was a lot of road cones as there are a lot of improvements being made, but it's going to be a huge asset once all is finished.nThe service was impeccable inside. The appointments were on time, and the staff were courteous.
Although the wait was long i take my hat off to the staff who were so friendly particularly my dr van der merwe who came out twice to talk to me and made me feel welcome and special treatment. If there was a 6th star i would give it to you guys xo
Bay of Islands Hospital just keeps blowing me away with the mindfulness and understanding that they have. Our son suffers from respiratory issues and every time we have been the ED department are always outstanding at listening to our needs and getting right down to the problem. We have recently just been discharged from a two night stay and the staff were absolutely lovely and welcoming, they even gave my partner his own bed to sleep in and included him in the meals which were really nice! if I could pick between Whangarei and Kawakawa, it will always be Kawakawa.
