Baulkham Hills Preschool Kindergarten (BHPS) is a community-based, not-for-profit preschool service established in 1961 and provides a high quality education and care service for children ages 3-6 years old.
The preschool is managed by a parent committee (of children enrolled at the preschool) and employs highly skilled, qualified and experienced educators.
Our Preschool strives to provide affordable, high quality education and care for children and their families.
Our Preschool has proudly been assessed and rated as “Exceeding National Quality Standard” under the National Quality Framework.
The preschool currently has four groups operating across each week. Generally groups are for two or three days per week – Mon/Tues; Mon/Tues/Wed; Wed/Thurs/Fri; and Thurs/Fri. Alternate attendance patterns can be considered where possible.
The preschool follows NSW School terms and is open Monday-Friday each week. Many children attend 9.00am-3.00pm, with extended hours currently being available from 8.00am-4.00pm.
The Preschool Learning Environment:
Our program is based on the philosophy that play is the ideal context for children’s learning. Through play, young children explore and learn to understand the world around them as they come to communicate, discover, imagine and create.
Our indoor and outdoor learning environments are engaging and stimulating, and are responsive to children’s ideas, interest, strengths and abilities. Transition to School, Munch and Move, and Environmental Sustainability programs are embedded in everyday practices.
The early childhood educational programs provided at our preschool are influenced and based upon the National Quality Framework and Standards, the Early Years Learning Framework, the NSW Curriculum Framework, and the principles of inclusiveness and diversity.
