The Banksia Montessori classroom is a structured environment where your child is free to learn at their own pace, under the guidance of fully-qualified teachers with Montessori training.

You must tour this school! Our family adores Banksia Montessori School and the wonderful staff. Our experience at Banksia has been exceptional! Montessori education has been such a gift for our kids, their gorgeous photo portfolios are so heartwarming to view, and they are so proud of the jobs they have accomplished. The facilities are brilliant, the students have a large outdoor area to play with 2 playground options plus a lovely sand pit, mud kitchens, and much more - all just for the one classroom! Students are so happy and fulfilled, our kids always love going back to visit the educators and have the most beautiful memories of their time at Banksia. The parent community is supportive and welcoming. It is a very unique place, and we feel it's the best start we could have given our kids. If you are looking for a beautiful small school with passionate educators and a strong community network, you will love Banksia Montessori.
I can't say enough good things about Banksia Montessori School! The student to teacher ratio is incomparable to anything else around, and all the teachers are experienced early childhood educators. The small class size ensures every child receives personalised attention. The hands-on learning approach is fantastic, and my son has thrived in this environment. It's truly a great place to start schooling! Additionally, the mixed-age class 3-6 year olds has been incredibly beneficial for my son. It's a beautiful cycle of growth and learning that truly sets this school apart. Furthermore, the small school environment allows families to form close bonds, creating a warm and supportive community for everyone involved—parents, grandparents, and the children. It has been a beautiful introduction to schooling. Thank you Banksia!
Banksia Montessori School is an amazing small school. I have chosen this school for my children because it is a good transition from being at home to a small community school where teacher to student ratio is great: 1 teacher for a maximum to 10 students. Moreover, the school has a Montessori philosophy and I found this important for my children's development to be able to have choices according to their needs and interests. I would definitely recommend this school to all parents.
Banksia Montessori is a wonderful school with a great community. The teachers are highly experienced and genuinely care about the children. Both my sons loved their time at Banksia!
My 2 sons went to this lovely school. Small cozy community with about 35 children/ 30 families - everyone knows each other well like a big family - very welcoming environment. Classroom is very well equipped with new & complete Montessori materials. The Principal & teachers are highly experienced, very dedicated and caring to the children. My older son is now in Y2 and very independent & eager to learn - all important qualities thanks to Banksia. Can't recommend this school highly enough!
All three of our children attended Banksia for the 3-year program. We loved the small community feel of the school and found it to be a wonderful foundation prior to going to 'big school'. All our children developed independence, confidence and a love of learning and are doing well in their current school. Thank you Banksia Montessori School for the perfect preparation.
We have really enjoyed having our kids at Banksia Montessori. Their development has noticeably improved both at school and at home and the focus and attention of the educators is impressive. It is such a beautiful little school with well maintained play areas and equipment, a raft of community based programs and a very inclusive multi-cultural environment. We would recommend this as an major upgrade to pre-school learning and socialisation for 3 to 6 year olds.
Banksia Montessori School are like a home away from home for our little Sienna. They follow all the principles of a traditional standard Montessori School and as a result our child is thriving academically, emotionally and socially. She came to Banksia as a shy, nervous unsure child. The staff are very nurturing and tentative to each individual Childs needs. The school has exceeded our expectations and we couldn't be happier as we know Sienna is ready to attend big school next year. As a current staff member I now work in the office I'm at bit biased, but I write this review as a former parent whose 2 children attended Banksia for 3 years. My daughters achievement report last year speaks for itself and perfectly reflects why we chose Banskia as a preschool for our children: "H. has an impressive ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Her positive attitude towards learning is an admirable attribute to the classroom environment. She enjoys offering her views on subjects within the class and always has something valuable to contribute. H. is to be commended for her sound academic performance in mathematics and also composes interesting writing pieces. She draws on her knowledge of sounds when spelling unknown words." - So from our family: 'Thank you Banksia!'
My son joined this school in Feb-12 as a 3 year old. I can already see a big improvement in his interests and ability to grasp new concepts. The school practices the Montessori style of learning that I feel is a more scientific approach for kids of his age. As it is an open environment, younger kids learn from their older buddies, which also improve their confidence when moving to a primary school. They would be less likely to face bullying. Also, the Principal and other staff are very efficient. The kids learn to be self-dependent in day to day activities like getting their own glass of water, cleaning dishes after lunch, arranging the toys after playing, etc. I would recommend all parents to give their children this excellent opportunity to kick-start their life in the best possible way.
