I was a patient in the day surgery unit yesterday. From the receptionist on the care I received was outstanding. Thank you so much to the wonderful nurses and the outstanding surgical team who took such good care of me. Special mention to the excellent anaesthesist who never left a mark. I’m very grateful for your care. Robynne Hi
This hospital has saved me on numerous occasions. There have been some hiccups at times I cannot fault the staff, the Drs or those angels in Flanagan, the wound clinic nurses, ED When I look at my foot I think of you. Especially Jill while I assumed the position. My niece Pip was the life of the clinic. With my hand on my heart. Thank You. If I forgot anyone sorry Finally, I read a review that made racism statements. I find that very hard to accept or believe. I love you all.
As a student Nurse who did his placement last month, I have to say that this is one of the worst hospitals in terms of care provided and student learning experience. Nursing educators will actively try to cancel your placement, will not listen or take action about Malpractices from Nurses, pair you with very inexperienced or junior nurses and ensure you are worked to the bone and not really learn anything at all. On top of that, the attitude they show towards Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders is pathetic. They are left without proper care by the nurses for days in the ward and everytime someone asks, they will say that they don't speak their language or there aren't any interpreters available. Finally, they will be excessively racist towards foreigners and I have personally felt a lot of Genderism and bias because I wanted to become a Male Nurse. Educators need to step up their game, especially people like Wendy Reynolds, who is a clear example of someone who does not know how to approach students and always wants students to fail by continuously setting traps for students in the ward and will also be show massive favouritism towards students who she likes personally.
I spent over fifty days in hospital after breaking my lumbar spine. I cannot praise the staff nursing cleaning catering allied etc enough. I was so well cared for the entire time. I was even allowed to have my miniature dog visit. Would recommend it to anyone.
I want to say how great this hospital is. I presented with chest pains was looked after very quickly on a busy period . Thankfully some one in ER decided I needed a CT scan., From this other issues were found and processes escalated. All the staff involved from the ER to the nurses and the Specialists were brilliant.compassionate and professional. I really believe that this hospital and it’s personal are greatly underrated and unappreciated.
My mother has had two strokes her health has deteriorated dramatically since being in this hospital. My mother fell 2 times in hospital and staff and doctors have tried to cover there mistakes from saying she can recover in the 6 month windows to now she can't walk, barely can talk, needs assistance for everything now since being in this hospitals care. My mother Waa always independent but now because she's elderly being 74 yrs of age it's easier for doctors ect to not care because they feel she's old. This is discusting to the bone they have ruined my mother's last days through falsely diagnosing her and mistreatment of my mother so many prescribed medications yet she only ever took 3 medications in her life since being in there care she's had over 40 different medications. If anyone who reads this don't trust the hospital go to a different one as they lie and cover each other there's no honesty just lies to confuse the family like they did with me.
If I could give this place no stars I would. I have never had a good experience at this hospital and being a local it’s quite an unsettling feeling. I went into ed and was put onto a drip and did a wee sample so they could run some tests. The nurse came back to tell me I had an infection so they gave me some medication through the drip. About half an hour later, the nurse comes back and tells me that she got my wee sample mucked up with someone else and I’m actually fine. So I had medication put into my system for absolutely no reason. Another time I went to ed taken by ambo for excruciating period pains I have pcos and I was put into the waiting room, I didn’t have a problem with this as I knew other people where needing the beds over me. Anyway I waited and waited scared a cyst might have burst, I got called into by the doctor and his only solution for me was that I had gastro. I didn’t once vomit in my time at the hospital nor did I have the other end going. I felt so lost and unsure because I knew for a fact I didn’t have gastro and it was my ovarian cysts playing up.
This is hospital is a mess. If you go here expect long wait times. That's fine and all as it is a rural hospital. But the lack of communication is ridiculous, its pretty easy to implement a system where you let people know how long they may have to wait for services.
My son Jake had a concussion and soft head injury from a bad fall at the skate park . The emergency department were professional and very thorough. The staff/ doctor were all kind and great . Thank you
I just had an Ultrasound and was told it would take 4 weeks to get a result. I had the scan to check for an Incision Hernia after a Quad BYPASS. I FIND THIS disgraceful and unbelievable.
