Excellent service and food, staff very helpful. Good menu. Ordered Amritsari Kulcha and chhole. Chhole were good, however the kulcha more likely was tandoori paratha. Authentic Amritsari Kulcha, those who know, is very firm and crispy. Other thing they could improve is that possibly they could build a door in between dining area and kitchen, as while sitting and dining you could clearly hear arguments noises and loud voices, which sometimes can ruin the dining experience for families.
This used to be a reliable place for no fuss indian snacks and sweets, we have bought a lot of hot food over the years. More recently though the experience left me not wanting to return. I bought some hot food and couple of boxes of milk cake which when was taken home seemed spoiled with mould see pictures. When I took it back, one of the staff was very apologetic while another one who came from the kitchen claimed it was just sugar. I was astounded as I had actual mouldy piece in hand and was told it is fine but I can get a refund if I want. It is sad to see such a institution place get to this state, may be owners are too focused on their new locations over in outer west and north and quality here is being ignored.
Despite some fake 1 star reviews, this place was the complete opposite. The lady was lovely, helped me choose and the food was very well prepared. I asked for my chai to be stronger than normal. They also reheated my tea. It's best to eat in instead of deliveries .
My wife & I came here for breakfast and we were delightfully surprised. The portion sizes were massive and the food quality was amazing. The best part was the friendly and smiling staff. Try out this little gem in the heart of Thomastown.
Only one piece of paneer was fresh ,rest of them were old and refried and it was like plastic
If you want home style, no fuss food, this is the place to go. On our visit to Melbourne from Canberra, we were tired of eating at different places that made us feel full with their rich food. As we are good cooks in everyday life, we value taste and simplicity in the food. And this place gave us just that. The tawa roti was a bonus. Staff was courteous and stayed late to serve us. We chatted as family members throughout. I highly recommend this place.
Probably the best samosa chaat I've had in Melbourne. Service was wonderful and the ambience is great! Have some chai at the end of your meal and ask for it "extra kadak" to really enjoy it :.
This is the best Indian food you can get not just in Melbourne, but all over Australia. It’s fabulous and the owners are amazing! Loved everything. Chole Bhature, gulab jamun, paneer paratha and so much more. It’s amazing
bought mix sweets gulab jamun is too hard like ball and tasteless milk cake and barfi contains salt in the taste waste of money
Small place, but good service and great staff. We ordered chholey bhature, aloo poori chholey and amritsari kulcha. Chai was not on the menu but our request was happily accommodated. Everything was served piping hot. Will recommend to friends and certainly would love to come back!
