Rented the car for 6 days last week. We dropped it off on Tuesday this week, and it's now Friday and we just got called saying they found dents on the roof and accused us of climbing on and standing on the car, which NEVER happened whilst in our possessio and nothing ever fell on the car either. Perhaps they didn't check it properly before renting it to us or they're making it up, or someone has stood on it after we dropped it off. When we got their call today, they said "head office told them to call and charge us". Strange. Why not talk to us first??! Anyway, didn't think they'd be so stingy and lie and accuse us of things that are untrue, and 3 days after dropping it off!!! On the phone with head office now. Unacceptable. When we picked the car up, they asked us not to stand on the car. So we didn't, and we don't climb onto cars anyway!?! Seeing people sitting on their motorhomes and vans at sunset then made sense why they would ask us not to stand on the car, but we never did!  Don't hire from Avis in Uluru!

gate airport and it took 1.5 hours to pick up pre-booked car  from Avis with maybe 5 people in line before me.    Car OK but on return was surprised to see that in the small print of the agreement there is an excess kilometre charge for anything over 100 kms.   If you have been to the Northern Territory you know that just about everything is over 100kms away so you will need to factor in that excess kilometres can end up costing as much as your car rental which was already expensive.    Poor service, expensive charges, hidden costs and the most expensive fuel on earth, if you don't need a car I wouldn't rent one in Ayer's rock particularly not from Avis

It turns out that I am not the only person who think the AVIS lady (with blonde, short hair) is rude and racist. I have had a really really bad experience with AVIS in Uluru. Avoiding AVIS in Uluru.

The avis Lady is so damn unfriendly !! She is rude and not polite at all ! - Customer Service?! Nope..
Hope she gets lost in a foreign Country on her own aswell and the olny possible Source of help is someone rude like her

Airport personnel is not friendly, all they care about is that you are not on your mobile taking pictures because they will warn you about a $4,000.00 fine.
