I was looking for a nice breakfast. Good selection on menu. The severs were all good and pleasant, coffee was nice and good temp. Taste of food good eggs where cooked perfect, very hard to find someone that cooks the whites of the eggs.... My main problem is with what I got severed. I ordered poached eggs, bacon, tomato with toast. 1st the tomato, a wedge, really 1 wedge. There is more tomato in a salad, more on a burger, this is a dish of 3 items. At least 1/2 tomato. Next was the toast, I got a nice peice and a end piece, the customers are not paying for ends, serve as a bonus, not as the meal. And on top of that, the end was dry, half buttered and grilled. So part cooked the other dried out. I then ordered Avocado as a side, got 1/4 of a small Avocado, for $6. So will not make that mistake again. I did see other meals coming out that appeared to big for people, and they were getting takeaway boxs. Worth a go. Oh well, I will keep searching for Mackays Best Breakfast spot.
Thanks to the warm service and delicious coffee, I had a truly enjoyable time here. The staff were friendly and made me feel comfortable, and the coffee was one of the best I’ve ever had. Kylie made my coffee, and it was absolutely amazing. This is definitely a café I’d love to visit again.
The Avenue Cafe is such a solid spot to go for all day breakfast, lunch or just coffee and a sweet treat! The staff are always lovely and friendly, making the place feel really welcoming. The coffee there is always reliably good too!nnDefinitely the best place in Mackay for good food, good coffee, and genuinely great service
Amazing café with tasty, high-quality food and big portions my favorite thing! My acai bowl was so HUGE that I didn't even get to finish it. The serving of peanut butter was also generous. As for the cappuccino, creamy and delicious. Make sure to book in advance if you plan to eat here, because all the tables were packed on Sunday at 9AM. I will definitely come here again to try a savory breakfast next!
It has always been a pleasant vibe from the staff, even though it seems to be busy most of the time that I've been here.
