View and check history before you buy! I purchased the car at around 8pm so wasn't possible to view properly. We live a 3 hour drive from the dealership and had to collect the car after we finished work at 5pm. The car was advertised on Trade Me as "immaculate condition inside & out" with no crash history and had a new WOF so we didn't think we'd really need to look at anything. In the morning we noticed the spoiler had very bad sun damage to the point where the clear coat was peeling and the red paint was pink and cracked. There were smaller scratches near the door handles and stone chips on the bonnet which someone had attempted to fix but with the wrong colour red. I don't mind these smaller scratches/chips but if the car is advertised as immaculate the spoiler should not be in this condition. Both mudflaps in front of the rear wheels were broken but this was not really an issue as they aren't too noticeable. For the interior everything was perfect but the silver trim, this had large noticeable scratches and chips where the silver paint had been scratched off and the black underneath was showing. This was chipped near the gear stick and again on one of the rear doors near the window button like someone had tried to remove the trim with a screwdriver and had a hard time doing it? 4 months in and someone has scratched the front left corner of my bumper and headlight. I took my car to a panel beaters, they say the bumper only needs to be repainted and the headlight can be sanded smooth again. They put my car on the hoist to check if any of the bumper clips had been damaged or needed replacing. They noticed nearly all the bumper clips were missing even on the side of the car that wasn't impacted and a lot of the plastic underneath the car was broken yes he did show me and wasn't just trying to get more $ out of me. The panel beater said there was no way this could have been caused by this little impact as the damage was quite far in and that the car had to have been in a head-on collision previously to cause damage like this but was advertised as "no crash history". Anyway i have paid to get this repaired along with getting the spoiler repainted and the interior wrapped. Other than needing to replace the belt in the first week, mechanically the car is great so far but i don't think someone should need to spend this much time and $ on a car advertised as "immaculate inside & out". Please note i purchased this car over a year ago now and Automax could have improved their services since. I am placing this review now as i have purchased another used car from another dealership which was advertised as "excellent condition with minimal wear and tear" and this car is in much better condition than the one purchased from Automax as "immaculate". Although i do blame myself for not viewing the car first, this should not have been advertised as immaculate with no crash history.
