The insurer will not authorise any quality repair work over there preference for a shoddy (that's good enough) repair. Even if the repairers claim to be able to do quality work, This is not what Budget will want or allow. If you feel there are legitimate systems in place to protect you from this kind of blatant unethical behaviour. Think again!!!. The professionals, who will only Authorise cheap work are the same assessors, who will then inspect your vehicle if you make a complaint about the misaligned panels or obvious discrepancy in paint colour. The only person who is served by having the job done properly is YOU, Not your insurer, Not the assessor, Not the repairer and certainly not Auto and General who will ensure that any complaint is swept under the carpet by the first three. For any of them to do otherwise would endanger the entire corrupt system by admitting fault and liability for their own actions. If you legitimately feel the need to be amazed, try your hand at one of their preferred repairers. Then watch in amazement and astonishment when someone who claims to be a Senior Assessor stands shoulder to shoulder with you, inspecting a third rate accident repair that even a three-year-old could detect as faulty and listen to them declare that the repair is fine and be dismissed.
