First-time donor here, I was thoroughly impressed by the care provided by Jon and Natasha. Their warm, friendly demeanor made me feel completely at ease during the donation process. Their exceptional soft skills truly stood out. Huge thanks to them both!
My regular blood donation place. The staff are super friendly and deliver a professional service to the donors. The place is always clean and due to covid they practice even more rigorous cleaning. Toilets are clean and fresh. They have several beds/chair for blood donation and usually there is not much waiting time if you follow the appointment. Upon completion they have a great range of snacks for the donors.
Firstly, I’d like to preface this review by saying how important the work of the people involved in Lifeblood is and that I have donated many times and this experience is an outlier.nnWhen I attempted to donate here most recently the donation was not able to be completed. I believe this is due to the nurse being more focused on discussing her weekend plans and roster with her colleague than actually taking my blood.nWhilst talking to her colleague and trying to take my blood, the needle did not properly hit my vein, resulting in discomfort/irritation and too low a flow. This has never occurred for me in previous donations.nnThe nurse immediately afterwards suggested it was my fault for either not drinking enough water or not properly preparing for the donation. It seems more likely that it was her fault for being distracted throughout the process and not focusing on the donation.nnI’m only writing this publicly because while Lifeblood begs for donations, they don’t care about feedback or concerns if you email them.nnUnfortunately, I won’t be returning to this Donation Centre and this experience has sadly made me question if I want to donate again. I write this in the hopes that in future employees will focus more on their job than chatting with colleagues, especially given how important their role is for both donors and saving lives.
Great place to donate your blood. Nurses and front desk were really friendly and attentive. The best part is that they are very efficient. Once you came in, register, someone will attend to you shortly unlike the branch in the cbd where you will wait a long time.
Second time donating and it was as lovely of an experience as it was the first time. Nurses and staff are amazingly kind and helpful thank you to the young man who assisted me with the catering
