This office might be hard to find at 747 Collins Square, Collins Street. There is no sign at the front of the building indicating the Passport office is just inside. But when you enter the front door of Collins Square you will see the sign for the passport office on the right. Once you enter the doors under the sign you will need to venture up stairs to gain entry to the office its self, don't worry there are lifts. When you do apply for your passport, via any post office you can have your passport delivered to you or you can pick it up (usually much quicker) from this office at Collins Square 747 Collins Street, Melbourne Vic 3008. The staff are extremely helpful and polite, on arrival you will be migrated through an automatic queuing system to the appropriate counter, there is staff to direct you.

The Passports Office in Melbourne is an absolute treasure.. I am seriously starting to think that the Australian Government has finally got it right. I lodge an application with priority service and, to my surprise, I actually got the Passport as per the promised time. Not to mention that the actual interview and lodgement process at the office was a pleasant experience. Justin was patient and helped me with completing the required applications, statements.. etc and was very courteous, patient and helpful, but even while he was running around gathering some information for me, I was enjoying looking at other staff who, I have to say, are probably the best looking crew in the Australian Government, those ladies are absolute stunners :-).. The girl that handed me the passport when I went to collect my passport, well, polite, friendly, helpful and for a minute, I thought she was a model. Thank you for a great service.

I booked to get a document apostilled. Thought I'd do it in person to get it done quickly. The woman on the phone said nothing about it taking 24 hours for the apostille to happen. I missed a day of work today for this appointment and now I'll have to miss another day to pick it up. I'm casual so that's a lot of income to lose.

Poor by Passport government officials to implement a no more mailing or pick up at post office of passport renewal forms as it is all!! On line. What about people that can’t access this service like elderly disabled minimal English speaking migrants and those that don’t have immediate access to the computer!! Talk about cutting you off. I am all for technology but we must include everybody on the decision that is made. I was told by the lady at passports.gov.au well that’s the new policy we encouraging friends and family to assist these people that have trouble filling the forms on line. Well what about privacy I was always told no one should fill out your private documents as this could lead to a legal implications if filled out incorrectly or someone uses your information for their own purposes. So how do you get around this if access is only on line!! Well done 👍

During a family crisis the Australian Passport Office really came through for us. Their compassion was demonstrated through their words and actions, meaning that we were able to travel to sick relatives within a short period. They have restored my faith in humanity and our government systems - what a great country we live in!
