I’m really disappointed with my experience at ACU. From my perspective, it has been one of the most frustrating universities to study at, especially when it comes to assignments and the support provided to students.specially nrsg 378 lecture Incharge of Melbourne trying to fail everyone she failed all of my friendsnnI completed my work honestly and did not use AI to write my assignment, yet I still failed. I understand universities need to maintain academic integrity, but in 2026 AI tools are widely used for things like brainstorming and research. I believe there should be clear guidance on acceptable use rather than leaving students feeling unfairly judged.nnAs a student, I personally feel that my concerns were not properly heard. Throughout my experience, I felt there was limited support when I needed help, and it was difficult to have my concerns taken seriously. I know other students have also shared similar frustrations, although I can only speak from my own experience.nnBecause of what I have been through, I personally would not recommend studying at ACU. I hope the university improves its communication, transparency, and support for both international and domestic students so others have a better experience than I did.
As part of the alumni more than 12 years ago, I’d had a great experience turn. For this reason, I chose ACU to undertake further study.nThe harassment is next level. I had until a certain date to accept, yet had 8 phone calls in 1 week, telling me I risked losing my spot. It’s an online postgraduate course and I still had time.nNext, the constant emails and texts telling me I had fees to pay. Again, I still had time.nI made the decision to unenrol for the above reasons and for the lack of support provided when I reached out to a lecturer for clarification of an assessment due in 5 weeks time.nEven though I have withdrawn, I have received 4 emails and 2 texts telling me my fees are overdue and to expect a $200 late fee.nTo add: over one week later, I received the acceptance of withdrawal, YET am still receiving overdue notices, you’re not logging into canvas, student support emails.nWhile I understand these are automated, surely you must see this has now reached a level of harassment.nSo disappointing.
their research is really strong and diverse. I love using acu library to find quality academic research, completely love itnnThe staffs in library are really polite and nice to me, I stay back late and study in library several times and staff really polite to mennThe environment here really enthusiasm, the scenario so beautiful
I studied with ACU online to attempting to gain my Masters in Teaching. The lack of support and accountability in the placement process is unacceptable, particularly for rural students.nnFirstly the staff need to start speaking to students as adults. As a 36 year old mother who has already had a 10 year career prior to recommencing study, I certainly did not appreciate being spoken to like a naughty child by faculty staff.nnI was told by the education faculty head of school to contact disability services to resolve a placement issue of living rurally, a parent and not able to do full time placement up to 90 mins, or in my case 160km away from my house. Disability support told they could not help because of course, being a parent is not a disability. This completely misses the point. The issue is not disability, it is that the placement requirements are not realistically accessible for someone living in a small rural town with limited schools, long travel distances, and caring responsibilities.nnSuggesting placements up to 160km away, with no viable support or alternatives, is not reasonable. Being redirected to disability services demonstrates a lack of understanding and responsibility.nnThe strict interpretation of the conflict of interest policy also fails to account for the realities of living in a small rural community. In my town of around 2,000 people with only two schools, it is unrealistic to expect students to have no prior relationships with staff or families. Treating general community connections as a conflict effectively excludes rural students from completing placements locally, without offering a practical alternative. A more nuanced, common-sense approach is needed, one that manages genuine conflicts such as direct supervision by close family without penalising people simply for being part of their community.nnFor a profession facing a teacher shortage, it is disappointing to see capable candidates effectively excluded by rigid systems.nnI gave up trying to fight the system and left with a Graduate Diploma, which means I cannot teach. ACU doesn’t care though, they got my money.
Honestly, my experience with ACU has been extremely frustrating. The communication is genuinely poor. Most of the time you don’t get a proper response, just an automatic reply saying it’s a “busy period,” and then nothing actually gets followed up.nnIt’s really disappointing because when you do reach out for help, you expect some level of support, but it often feels like you’re left to figure everything out on your own.nnOn top of that, the class offerings are so limited and inflexible. It makes it really hard to plan your degree properly, especially if you’re balancing work or other commitments. Units aren’t always available when you need them, which just adds unnecessary stress.nnOverall, it feels very disorganised and unsupported. Definitely not what I expected, would not recommend.
