Kia kotahi te oranga mo te iti me te rahi o te hāpori.

Our values:

Together Tūhono Aim High Angamua

We serve a population of almost half a million people across central Auckland, as well as providing some services for the Northern region (such as adult cancer treatment) and services for the whole of New Zealand (including organ transplants). Our services are not just limited to the hospital setting, but include the provision or funding of many services within our community that support the overall health of our population – these include community mental health services, community lab tests and dental health.

Auckland District Health Board (also referred to as Auckland DHB) provides services at two main hospital sites – Auckland City Hospital, with its far reaching views across the Waitemata Harbour, and Greenlane Clinical Centre nestled in the shadow of One Tree Hill in Cornwall Park. Our sites have approximately one million patient contacts each year.

Auckland DHB is home to New Zealand’s largest clinical research facility and it is the largest trainer of doctors in the country.

Big and very efficient staff. Customer service and care for people strongly manifested. Kudos to all health workers and the Government for keeping your commitment to the community to have a safe and available healthcare for free to every kiwi.nIt was our first time to visit this place, our anxiety has turned to gratification and calmness. Grateful kudos New Zealand
My wife was given a devastating stage 4 breast cancer diagnosis and when admitted was given the news that her liver was on the brink of failure. Without the correct treatment she would have died in 3 days. This was on a Tuesday and her improvement was so dramatic the doctors considered releasing her on Friday. To be clear she is a terminal cancer patient and has had treatment every 3 weeks for almost 6 years. Her results are great but require considerable effort from her doctors, nurses and care workers. Their extraordinary dedication has turned a terminal condition into an inconvenient one. No praise is high enough nor accolades to grandiose. My sincerest thanks to you all.
Recently my godson had surgery to remove a nasal tumor that was causing severe nosebleeding and could eventually affect his eyesight.nThe nurses in the Ear Nose and Throat ward were professional, kind, helpful and sympathetic. They even got me a comfortable chair so I could sleep in his room the night after the surgery.nBefore leaving I got clear instructions from them on how to look after him while he recovered at home.nAlong with the nurses, the surgical team were helpful and patient. They answered all of our questions, allayed our worries and shared our relief.nI will be forever grateful for their professionalism and their kindness. God bless them all.
Grateful for your services. To all the doctors, nurses and other hospital staffs, thank you so much for taking care of me during my surgery and chemotherapy. Thank you New Zealand for this remarkable privilege that I experienced. God Bless y’all.
Would rate 0 if possible. Went in needing antibiotics for a very obvious infection. Nurse saw me twice within 4 hours basically confirming that I needed them. Then waited SEVEN HOURS before seeing a dr who prescribed me the antibiotics. They could’ve seen me earlier and got it over with within 10 mins but instead I waited for over 11 HOURS with no communication from them. Whenever I approached staff for an update on my case they rudely advised me to just wait and wouldn’t bother contacting anyone for an update. Also worst atmosphere, incredibly rude staff who don’t care at all about the patients. Unless you’re taken there by ambulance, I would HIGHLY recommend going to ANY other hospital in Auckland. Whole thing is a waste of our tax payer money. They’re currently spending thousands putting in a new entrance in the emergency department - did they ever think to maybe spend that money to hire more drs and nurses they are very clearly lacking? Whole thing is a joke. Don’t waste your time there better to go to urgent care or as I said, any other hospital.
