Don’t go to ASB. I went there and was told I could open up a bank account with my working holiday visa but I would have to wait 3-5 business days for a letter. I was totally fine with that. I then got the letter in the mail and went back to the branch. I was then told that it was “against the law to open up a bank account for someone on a working holiday visa without a sponsor who also banks at ASB” I went to 4 other banks and they said that isn’t a law. I went with BNZ.
