It’s always very slow and difficult process to transit from the vline train to the vline bus at Ararat station. Vline needs to make this process of getting off the train and into the bus easier and quicker.
The Ararat Railway Station is a charming piece of heritage that warmly welcomes visitors to this historic town. The station itself is a testament to the rich history of rail travel in Australia. The staff at the Ararat Railway Station are both friendly and helpful, readily providing information about train schedules, local attractions, and the town itself. Their genuine enthusiasm for the station's history and its significance to the community adds a personal touch to the experience.
Clean, good functioning station. Regular services to Ballarat and Melbourne. Can also catch the train to Adelaide once a week.
Don’t know the name of bus driver but my daughter told me he’s a man and wears glasses and usually drives the bus to Horsham, everytime she’s about to board the bus and his driving or present at the station he always brings up an excuse for my daughter not to board yet, I find it rude & not welcoming at all since he doesn’t do it to any other people / aussies. I’m not sure if he doesn’t like people of colour or if he’s just like that lol. Will be writing up a report once I’ve found out his name.
It's great to have a useful train service that runs between Ballarat, Melbourne and all the stops along the way to and from this country town station. Also the overland does runs each ways to melbourne, Adelaide and coach services that run to Horsham and beyond. The station probably needs some minor upgrades, such as a book exchange or drink or candy vending machines on the platform so they are conveniently located for passengers who are hoping on or off the train.
