In hospital a week ago with tonsillitis. Went to Ararat medical centre yesterday as my throat was swollen, blocked and I couldn't swallow anything. Tested negative for covid. Drove 40 minutes to get there and had my 2 and 3 year old children with me. They turned me away and refused to see me due to my throat being sore. NO WONDER WITH TONSILLITIS. Absolutely disgusted in them and how I was treated.
Waited an hr and half, presented myself to reception, thinking doc could have been called to an emergency,,,nnoooo, sorry we didn't book you in correctly.Oh thankyou so what are you going to do for me,,,well you can see a doctor next week,,REALLY,IM 68 have never been treated so badly.Very professional,,Not!!!!
Depending on which doctor you see, you'll receive either fantastic or subpar treatment. Some of the receptionists need to work on their customer service as there's nothing worse than being snapped at when you feel crook. Can't fault the nurses station, always been looked after well there.
Ridiculous got told multiple times it was meant to be a phone consultation and turns out 3 hours later was meant to be a face to face visit but yet had 2-3 different people saying it’s a phone call then rang up saying I’ve missed it due to being a face to face visit but yet my mum is very sick and they don’t understand that and still can’t get the right appointment Ararat is very ridiculous for doctors as I’m from nsw and got turned away because of it this town of terrible
Had a telehealth appointment made 4 weeks ago. Received a confirmation email the day before and they cancelled me on the day. Needed a medical cert for work. Advised to go to qocdoc online to buy a cert. There is no health care in Ararat. Obviously if your sick in this town you have to present to ED.
I'm really happy with how they have run the covid vaccine clinic, however the three stars is for their lack of connection through phone call, and redirection to website which you can't book on. There's never any appointments within the next few days, and at one point I had to attend emergency because I couldn't get an appointment soon enough.
I was a cleaner at Ararat Medical Center until I got told that it wasn’t clean whenever I had my shifts when sometimes that clinic can look like there was primary school kids in there not DOCTORS. And the boss was very rude about it never again will I ever work there or go for any appointments
i often get a cancellation text when i need palliative care scripts without notice both phone or or visit.this service needs to be improved on.if the doctor isnt available they should be booked in with another doctor, not the ON CALL doctor which attracts payment even for pensioners and palliative care patients.NOT GOOD ENOUGH
Money over medicine, be safer to just live with your illness. Don't come here.
Only local residents can attend or make appointments at this clinic
