Aranmore is an amazing school!!!! It is small , thank goodness and the teachers so far have been amazing for my son. He has been there since year 7 and is now in year 9. While there is certainly an element of ratbag children- like most schools, I felt they have managed bad behaviour well. We have have only had a good experience. It is also reasonably priced. I have also found the students behaviour on public transport to be very good. They have always behaved with rspect- standing up for older population etc. My son and his friends were actually commended by an old veteran on the train for their good behaviour. The music specialist program is amazing. We are not a sporting family and while there is a strong element on sport at the school, this has not impacted us in any way. This year they have become strict with the uniform rules- for a reason- to maintain neat standards.the right teachers make a difference. I am sorry that some students have had negative experiences with deans- as one lady has reported- perhaps these deans have left. We have not had this experience. Only positives here. I could have sent my son to Hale but I chose this school - single sex schools often breed elitism and arrogance and it also was not where my son wanted to go. This school provides a reality of what the real world working environment is all about- working with everyone.
Absolutely appalling behaviour by students on public transport. I was disgusted by the language coming out of these boys mouths, the littering on the train including spitting out gum, and eating ice cream/chips/cool drinks etc on the train. The school should be ashamed. I would never even fathom sending my kids here.
Did not attend, but students are the worst I have ever seen on public transport. From reading the reviews, it is probably cause the school is so bad it is unable to make the students feel safe or comfortable on school grounds. Needs a serious change of ownership/deans.
I would give this horrendous school 0/5. 99% teachers are awful and the deans and principle are strict for no reason. Forced us to take off our winter uniform even though it was cold and raining, yeah they are that ridiculous. Please don’t send your kids here unless you want them to have no education. Sister Janina was the only person who was AMAZING!
Don't send your children to this school!!! They failed dismally with their 'duty of care' of my son, who was harrassed by two school deans in the schoolyard to the point where he was too traumatized to attend the school. He was dismissed for 3 days, on the 3rd day of year 12 doing his ATAR, derailing his run into university. A poor decision in any circumstances. A student with reports from all teachers stating he was well behaved, well mannered and always respectful, and never in any trouble of any kind throughout his years there. While they project a compassionate, empathetic catholic environment, this is not always the case. While there are some kind personnel there, but there are also some horrible men in charge of students who should not be. Pathetic men who feel the need to humiliate, degrade and dominate a 16 yo young man to the point where he felt he could no longer finish his schooling there.. I don't know how these two empty vessels sleep at night treating our children like that.
It’s a horrible school. Everyone dislikes the deans and the “authorities” treat all the students horribly with no explanation. No one is able to express themselves as it’s an immediate suspension. This school is very looked down upon. Very upsetting. Aranmore teachers and deans need to do better on how they handle situations and treat the students.
I understand that they want the Students to look presentable but shouldn't they be allowed to learn comfortably? without having to change in and out of the sport uniform I'd rate this school 0 stars if I could. Although there is one rule like the rule of no Mobile phones during school hours
School is the best place to produce 9 to 5 workers. "If you can't make money while you sleep, you will work for the rest of your life!"
This school ruin half of my life
Despite Australia being a Secular country, a Catholic school in Australia bars Hindu girl from attending classes due to a tiny nose stud ------------------------------------------------------------- Notably, the school guidelines also include a provision for exceptions. The guidelines state that students with a valid reason can present a note of explanation to school signed by a parent, but when Singhal showed a note from her mother to her teachers, which explained that the stud could not be removed for one year due to religious reasons, she was told that she could only attend classes after removing it.
