Brilliant service being provided. The SDHB has a load of dysfunction and serious problems leading to tragedies. But Mataora Clinic is superb. From what I can see, this is what SDHB should be aspiring to be. Doctors and professionals here are at the top of their game: Very caring, very talented, with a humane vision of what healthcare should and can be. Plus discounted fees! I love being a patient at this health care provider. I followed the brilliant Dr Salil Elias here. Every doctor and nurse I have seen here has been top notch. I'd rate the excellent Dr Elias and this medical centre 6 stars if I could. Thank you for providing this inspired service to Dunedin!

Dr Salill Elias is one of the GPs working at this clinic. Time he in the student health program at Otago University, he had been one of the most sought after doctors and students need to wait over a week just to get an appointment to see him. He is one of the best GPs in New Zealand and, arguably, one of the best in the world. He is kind, helpful, empathetic, excellent diagnostic skills and has the courage to go the extra mile for his patients. Furthermore, the reception staff are very helpful and always go out of their way to help.

Discontinuity of care due to under staffing. Concerns were not heard when I raised them.

My Whanau has been under Arai Te Uru Whare Houora for a few years we are under a nurse Audrey for medical purposes to help control our conditions. She is cultural to our needs, very understanding explains things in a direct dialect that we understand, is very caring, we couldn't ask for anyone nicer. Audrey rings you to visit and comes to your house for visiting its nice because your in your own environment. They also have a free gym which my whanau are going to use, I am excited I am going to achieve a goal to get down to size 9. Monica is a support worker and an advocate with families or a one on one worker she takes you through step planning goals for you and your whanau. Succeeding and establishing some of your prior goals makes you feel accomplished in what you have succeeded.
