5/5 – An Iconic Melbourne Staple Meets Smash Burger PerfectionnAndrew’s Hamburgers in Albert Park is legendary for a reason. Sitting right in the heart of the main strip, this spot has been an icon for generations three, I believe! and Andrew continues the legacy with pride. Nothing fancy, nothing over the top—just that warm, homey, old-school fish-and-chip-shop comfort that Melbourne knows and loves.nIn my opinion, Andrew’s is arguably the best fish and chip shop in Australia, full stop.nnBut today’s review is all about their incredible collaboration with Leon’s Smash Burgers—and let me tell you, this is the best of both worlds. You get Andrew’s classic “burger with the lot,” but loaded with Leon’s signature smash patties. These patties are insane: smashed to crispy perfection around the edges with a juicy, tender, flavour-packed centre. The standard collab comes with double smash patties, bacon, double cheese, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, tomato sauce, and Leon’s smash sauce.nI customised mine of course!—no fresh tomato, no tomato sauce, and I skipped the optional beetroot and pineapple. I like my burgers heavy, hearty, and ultra flavourful. So my build was: two smash patties, double cheese, bacon, egg, lettuce, and Leon’s smash sauce. And because I couldn’t resist… I added a third smash patty and cheese. A monstrous triple smash tower of perfection.nnThis was, and will always remain, one of the best smash burgers of all time. I follow Leon’s pop-ups whenever I can since he doesn’t have a permanent store yet hopefully soon!. So when I heard he was teaming up with the legendary Andrew’s Hamburgers, I had to try it. And it was absolutely worth it—no hype, no gimmicks, just pure, comforting, legendary burger perfection. Honestly blows places like Charrd out of the water.nAndrew’s never misses. Everything is fresh, made to order, homemade, and crafted with genuine care and quality. Same goes for Leon’s—the double smash and maple bacon from his usual lineup are unbelievable as well. Today’s meal also came with some of the crispiest, fluffiest, golden salted chicken-salt fries—hands down the best in the game.nI can’t recommend Andrew’s Hamburgers enough, even though it’s already one of Melbourne’s most famous institutions. I truly hope they continue for many more generations. It’s that good.
Outstanding burger. We had the Lot and the Smokey Robinson burgers. Fantastic. Quality ingredients, ample toppings. and the bacon had a beautiful, nice smoke and salt to it. Tastes like old times but not. One of the best burgers I’ve had in a while - USA or anywhere. Definitely worth coming again and again.
My good friend John and I went to Andrew's Hamburgers on Saturday as my friend had cravings for a traditional Aussie burger and the fact he hadn't been there for nearly 30 years!nLocation, Saturday vibe with the warm weather were great however the smallest criticism would be that we had to wait for 45 mins to get our order which comprised a hamburger with the lot some potato cakes and fries.nOnce we got our order we enjoyed the burgers that were generous, cooked perfectly and most important of all..delicious.nHighly recommended but please note if you planning to go on a Saturday night like we did, expect a good wait before you receive your order/meal.
Best burgers ever. Great service, staff and incredible food. Steak sandwiches are also amazing. Can’t go wrong coming here on the regular.
Really nice burgers, perfect if you want an old style burger or a burger with the lot. Friendly staff
