This pie shop is incredible, being a typical kiwi bloke i have tried a fair few pies. These pies really hit the spot. That good i went two days in a row while down here on holiday. I tried their mince and cheese, jumbo steak and cheese, jumbo steak and a steak and onion. Pastry was perfect in all of the pies. Plenty of steak in their steak pies and proper cheese, none of the cheese sauce crap you get in some pies these days. And the price, the price was really good for the quality of pie. Anderson pies keep up the good work.
Driving through Hawera and popped in for a pie. Saw they did Cornish pasties so being originally from the UK had to try one. The filling was plentiful and the taste was great, really liked it. A very good interpretation, and only $4.80 at that. What’s not to like!
My husband bought me a custard square from here and it honestly was the worst one I've ever had. Very bland and the pastry on the bottom didn't seem cooked through. It also left a horrible film in my mouth. Very disappointed.
Anderson's Pies are my favourite and I finally made it to the shop. Worth getting up early in Wellington to get there. Stocked up to take home with me.
Stopped in for lunch, so many choices to choose from, settled on a potato top pie, steak & onions and a creamed filled doughnut.nnGood food and well priced too. Also liked that they actually serve you rather than let you butcher their pies with the tongs while trying put one into the paper which usually results in someone using their hands this way just keeps it clean and sanitary for everyone
