Booked by phone and arrived at 11pm after a 8 hour drive only to find that linen was not provided but available for hire which we were not made aware of at time of booking. Office was obviously already closed so we had a very cold night. Heater is on a timed button so will only stay on for few minutes. Very squeaky and VERY uncomfortable bunk beds. Overall lacking service and facilities. Would never stay here again. Reply to owners comment: We booked under my wifes name and contrary to what you say we were NOT told the place came with no linen at any point. Even in budget accommodation, basic customer service is expected. I would have happily paid for the hire of linen if I had been told.

The couple that run the campsite in the owner's absence were very friendly upon our arrival and throughout our visit. However, once the owner returned, unfortunately he came across a bit rude, at one point walking into the kitchen and audibly sighing whilst going around tidying, which was a bit uncomfortable. On the couple of times I spoke to him, he did not really exude friendliness either. Having said this, the campsite is lovely, with some great facilities (a bit dated, but nevertheless very good). There was a kitchen with loads of hobs and all the utensils ans some cheap washing machines and tumble dryers, a T.V/. room and hot showers, all very clean and relatively well maintained. The site itself was lovely and very picturesque. There is a train track on a viaduct running through the site, which did not disturb us at all and the location was a 15 minute walk into the town centre. Good grass coverage on the tent pitches too! A very reasonably priced site given all it's pluses! Would highly recommend.

A wildlife doorstep and sanctuary, complete with a glimps of yesterday today, great facilities away from the hustle and bustle. Awesome Kiwi Hospitality where great memories are forged!

I would have rather stayed somewhere else if it wasn't too late. Way too many people cramped into a small space. Had a little problem with someone who lived their regularly as we were told to cram into whatever space they had left. Internet service is separate. Had better toilets, showers, and other facilities in other parks in New Zealand. So would have to say I was disappointed.

Great location. Great place for a family holiday. Good facilities to cater for everyone.
