Gorgeous setting, ample parking, friendly and knowledgeable volunteers. This was an incredible walk through the past. Detailed information on the rooms, functions, and history of the home and families. An amazing maze of a mansion. Will definitely visit again.
It was so interesting to come here and experience a Victorian home in the middle of Auckland! What I liked is how light and welcoming the place felt. A lot of homes like these feel spooky inside but everything here feels more museum like. Thank you for the experience Alberton.
Beautiful heritage building can buy a ticket for visiting inside the house and have a nice vintage afternoon tea in the back Weekend market at garden sometime Great for family and friends come to visit here
A very cool and amazing historical place to visit. Once one of the first farm lands in auckland. You can tour the house and see the amazing rooms and hidden secrets they built in. Also see the surrounding gardens that have markets once a month. A must visit and you can get a pass for the other historical houses in aucklandVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. I arrived at opening time and had a great introduction by one of the staff. Then we were free to roam the magnificent displays. The authentic heritage was so enjoyable to see. I felt that it wasn't over- dominated by 'don't touch' signs. The freedom we were given, to explore and enjoy was just right. The gardens were lovely too. It was well worth the $10 entry. The we gift shop had some great things for sale.
Always enjoy every visited to Alberton, been there to Christmas market, Enchanted walk & Farmer market. Great job for the group who do the maintenance on this heritage house. You can enjoy whole afternoon here, for afternoon tea certain date only or Just seated on grass n imagine how the life looks alike here in the old days. There’s a small souvenir shop inside, the staff there very helpful n friendly. Also selling NZ made local products n some vintage stuff there.
The Alberton House was built in 1863, very well-known in the late 19th century. People of the upper class held dance parties, garden parties and small concerts here. Many appliances and equipment used at that time are displayed in the house, and a few rooms still have the wallpaper used for interior decoration at that time.
Great day out at Alberton House Market Day. Fabulous selection of artisan food stalls, and two simply dupurb singers entertaining the crowd. Good options for lunch or a snack, including scones and tea inside the house. The grounds and building are a pleasure to view, and well worth a visit.
One of fun place to go. Good for family The market day so much things try and feel The historical house is worth to see.
Time machine to 19 century, 10$ admission fee for an adult, friendly lady gave us a wee tour around the house. Nice garden for a picnic under old trees. We've spent 2hr on the dot to cover all 18 rooms and outside area.
