The most rudest of staff (Scottish guy Jacob) called me a "thing" to my husband when I approached him over our meals . I asked for poached eggs on toast, tomato and avocado for myself and my husband. We received 1 egg that was dry, a piece of toast, tomato and the smallest serving of avocado I have ever seen (half the size of a little finger), for my husband and myself. I contacted the owner (very agitated) to discuss the problem, who just then abused me and hung up on me in the middle of our conversation-wouldn't listen to a word I had to say. All I can say is make sure you order off the menu everyone, otherwise you are in for a hell of ride at the Alba Cafe. I am aware there has been altercations with the staff and patrons in the past, I am not the first. Nasty experience

Ordered the poached eggs with avocado on toast dish, very disappointing. Both eggs were not poached, the yolk was hard as a rock and not deliciously ooey gooey as it should be. The avocado looked and tasted like mush from a pre-bought container. Why not present a fresh avocado sliced up over the eggs on toast? Tasteless dish, only good for some fuel for the day, nothing more. On top of this, we received a surcharge on the bill for paying on card and were not warned of this. What’s up with that? Warn your customers if they will be paying for more than the items ordered. Terrible service and food, won’t be back here again.

Wow that was amazing service and the food was fantastic. Really took me to a happy place. Been along time since I had that good old fashioned service and a meal that left me talking about it for days. Well done. I'll be back for sure.

Coffee was decent enough but staff / owners / their relatives smoking outside at the tables. They then proceed to throw their cigarette butt down the drain. Illegal and disgusting and when I told them they basically told me that's my problem and it's not illegal.

These guys are really friendly, have GREAT coffee, and their food is delicious. They also care about their community and have a pay-it-forward scheme in place. Kid friendly is a big plus!
