Lovely place! Very informative and plenty of things to see. I really recommend going on a tour as you will be able to visit tour-only sites! Our guide, Chris, was really nice and helpful. We spent about 2-3 hours here, that’s including the tour. The museum also has a mosquito jet simulation that you can try on.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
A MUST go if you visit Christchurch! What a great museum with very friendly staff and full of historic stuff around Air Force and the great wars! A lot of airplanes very well preserved! Also they provide a guided tour with staff who can tell much more details and stories about the events between NZ and the wars around the globe. SURPRISINGLY is free entry but I did and strongly recommend a donation to keep all the place working good and well as its running nowadays.
A wonderful display of some amazing aircraft, some great stories and excellent exhibits. Great for the kids and the whole family really. The hanger is only one part of the museum, there is also a-lot of photography, a memorial, games and a area which shows off uniforms, medals and weaponry. Donation for entry.
Did a training day here. Rob & the team were fabulous and venue was so well equipped with state of the art Zoom facilities. The coffees and food were excellent and Heroma service was delightful. Highly recommend the venue for your next event
A must visit if you are in Christchurch! A free family-friendly attraction, good for all ages. The displays are wonderful as is the signage - which explains everything about the exhibits. We first visited the aircraft hall on the front left, only to later realize there is YET ANOTHER equally large, and even better hall - which has different light effects. These effects change as you traverse through.
A must place to visit in Christchurch. Really modern and big museum with lots of airplanes and two simulator cabins to sit in. You can take the guided tour and get behind of the scenes and access 3 other areas with airplanes being restored and even inside an aircraft. This tour is a 10/10 and highly recommended. The staff is really friendly. Great experience for adults and kids.
Perfect overcast/rainy day activity. Decent sized museum but smaller compared to national museums. Admission’s free and there’s heaps of parking. Staff at the reception was really welcoming and helpful. You’d probably spend about an hour here. Although we’re not huge aircraft people and have no background knowledge on them, we still enjoyed browsing the exhibits and planes in the hangers
great place to visit, whenever you visit Christchurch, it is free but we gave donation as it is well-maintained for it to continue. good for family day and fun for the kids
My great uncle was listed on the wall of Remembrance, highly recommend the guided tour for $2. It's free entry but recommend to give a donation.Visited onWeekendWait time1 hr+Reservation recommendedNo
It's a great place for kids if you need some thing to do on a rainy day, as with many good things in Christchurch this is also free to enter
