This place was my first dine out place in Adelaide 2015 and I only remembered the pack of people queued to the back beyond capacity inside the shop. The fresh homemade bread was made in the traditional tandoor in front of the counter. The chicken kebab and pita bread are so delicious and tasty. 5 Other charcoal Kebab meat was a little salty or hard and tasty. 3 I normally don't like the yogurt sauce but it was mild and didn't have acidity to go with kebab. 5 Biryani was very mild and tasty. It just missing the fragrance of fresh spice. 4 Friendly customer service and a lot of regular customers were coming to pick up their takeaway food. Overall 4.5 but the pita bread is unbeatable.
Food here is delicious and all freshly prepared. My favourite dish was the okra stew / curry. Vine leaves were also excellent. Kids really enjoyed their meat wraps with the soft fluffy pita bread and filled with salad and the meat skewer.
The only authentic and real taste of kebabs in Adelaide, juicy and sumptuous taste, and traditional fresh live Afghan bread from tandoor. Muhammad is very friendly and lovely host. A true satisfaction of a feast.
Whoa! We came to Adelaide from Sydney to attend an International Conference. We stayed in Hotel Grosvenor. Soon after checking into the hotel, we were rushing to any restaurants. But we didn’t know in Halal restaurant since we are very new in Adelaide. That time we came across Afghan Charcoal Kebab House. Well, in Sydney the Kebab is like a wrap which is not originally a kebab we used to have in Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan. But yeah, here in Afghan Kebab I found the same taste and texture of Kebab I have ever cherished. For the next five days, we only relied on this beautiful shop. Lamb, Chicken skewers, biriyani, Kabuli pullaw, and many more delicious items are available here. The price is very reasonable and I appreciate the owners for their kind hospitality.
Posting the photos of same skewer kebab on both sides. One side burnt black. Other side was fine. The restaurant guy was never agreeing that they burnt it badly, moreover saying thats how it is. Trying to justify this is how a skewer should be.. How funny..trying to establish that I don't understand how a skewer looks like.. Very bad way of imposing me to eat an over burnt kebab as he feels this is not their fault. Very disappointed. Will never eat there.
The food here is honestly the best, top tier. The customer service is outstanding and the staff are so friendly. Highly recommend :
Amazing authentic Afghan cuisine. Very delicious and staff is friendly and accommodative. During our stay in SA, we had dinner and lunch mostly at this restaurant.
The kabab is one of the best and most delicious I’ve had in Adelaide.. and the service is really helpful and nice We trued the wrap and the platters as well as the baklawa
Popular Afghan Charcoal restaurant. Friendly owner, busy place at dinner time. Tried the mix Kebab Lamb, chicken and lamb mince skewers, which was tasty with a great charcoal flavor. Fresh homemade pita bread was made in the traditional tandoor in front of the counter.
Really good friendly stuff and I had chicken wrap with fresh naan pita bread. Tasted delicious. The chicken kebab had a good spicy level. Plus, they can make it more spicy if you can ask them.Food: 5/5
