Adelaide railway station is the central terminus of the Adelaide Metro railway system. All lines approach the station from the west, and it is a terminal station with no through lines, with most of the traffic on the metropolitan network either departing or terminating here. It has nine below-ground platforms, all using broad gauge track.
The Adelaide Railway station is a very good railway station. My only complaints about it is that the toilets have a horrible stench that doesn't go away, and that the food stalls are quite expensive but I guess that isn't the railway stations' fault. It is extremely well maintained, even exploring around the railway station is beautiful and leaving the railway station through the long way leads to the Adelaide Convention Centre and the Riverside Walkway. It's a beautiful railway station, it has multiple train options for different routes. The trains are very frequent, especially for Gawler Central so missing a train won't be too devastating. Overall, its a fantastic railway station that is reliable and clean
Adelaide Train Station is absolutely appalling. From start to finish, the experience is a nightmare for anyone trying to get anywhere on time. The staff are completely useless — not helpful at all, and it feels like they don’t care if you’re struggling or have questions. I ended up missing my train because there was zero guidance or support from anyone working there.nnThe trains themselves are just as bad. They leave early without warning, ignore passengers who are running to catch them, and give no thought to the people relying on public transport. It’s chaotic and completely unprofessional. You’d think basic punctuality and consideration would be a priority, but apparently, it’s not.nnThe station is poorly managed overall. There’s no clear communication, staff don’t step in to help, and the system seems to function purely for the convenience of the trains themselves, not the passengers. Waiting there is stressful, frustrating, and honestly, unsafe at times.nnAdelaide Train Station is a complete disgrace to public transport. Between the useless staff, early trains, and total lack of care, it’s impossible to rely on this station. Avoid it if you can, because it’s a guaranteed way to miss your train, waste your time, and feel completely disregarded.
The Adelaide city railway station is amazing. It reminds me of an out of city railway station in New York except this one’s the main station. There’s many food stalls here for a quick bite before hoping on the train. Trains go to many places. They are really quick as well. The platforms are greatly spaced and there is a lot of room here so you won’t fall into the pit.
Just boarded the train from Adelaide train station to Seaford at 4:57pm ADL time dated 07.10.2024, This driver has such a unique and thoughtful way of wishing passengers a happy journey—thats shows he cares, enjoys his job and brings smile to everyone’s face. He is definitely an asset to his department. Please do convey my regards
