Stayed here for a convention this weekend and we were blown away by how wonderful this hotel was!nSo incredibly accommodating, even when we had odd schedules to follow. Room was clean and comfortable with a city view for a very reasonable price. Staff very friendly and we are considering making this a regular stay when visiting Melbourne!nCould see the convention centre from our window and it was easy to get around.nnOnly thing I would say could be improved is a few extra toilet rolls in the hotel room because we ran out, but that's it.nnBuffet breakfast was incredible and tasty and the reception area kept our bags safe while we finished up at the breakfast before checking out.nnThank you so much to the AC by Marriott team! You made it an amazing weekend for us!
We booked a single night and have had a disappointing experience. Parking is a nightmare. Payed the hotel to park as part of the booking. Parking is a block away in an open public carpark that has no spaces. You are supposed to find a park in there get a ticket, give them the ticket and leave without a ticket. Absolute joke. Staff are rude and dismissive when approached with issues. Overall service is not great, booked a room with champagne and instead of having it sent to the room or already in the room on some ice or something they just give you the bottle at the check-in desk. Room is small but very clean. Superior king doesn't seem to have a fan in the bathroom - minor thing but it's probably why the room smelled a bit when we came in for the first time. I will be spending money in a different hotel in future.nEdit: breaky was good if you are staying there its worth it.
I’ve stayed at AC a few times now and always had a great experience. The staff are super friendly and always acknowledge my Marriott status and were great with my young son. The rooms are spacious and clean, with comfortable beds and large TVs. The breakfast is tight, but tasty.nnThe location is a bit out of the way, but walking distance to Convention Centre, Crown and DFO.nnWill definitely be back
I like this location. Short walk to the river, restaurants and shops. Hotel has nice views of the city. Lively bar and interesting breakfast options. Lobby area is large with good seating for meet ups. Modern place. On the downside, crossing the road here can be treacherous when on foot.
my family and I had the breakfast buffet. Another family members of ours arrived from Sydney to Melbourne at 8AM via train imagine how exhausted they were that time and they couldn’t check in yet as it wasn’t check in time, so while waiting for them to be able to check in, they sat with us in the restaurant while we had breakfast. The “restaurant supervisor” that time named PABLO was just watching all our movements the whole time, as he advised us that those who did not pay for the buffet breakfast would have to pay to be able to eat. We asked for ala carte menu and they couldn’t provide one. One of my nieces just had a piece of watermelon as she wasn’t aware about what was going on that time – and hurriedly, as expected, the “supervisor” PABLO went to me, in the middle of my breakfast, to advise me that we had to pay for full buffet price because ‘everyone’ in our table was consuming the buffet food. The supervisor PABLO was already on fire that you could feel how eager he was for us to pay extra. Apart from us NOT enjoying the start of our day with how we were treated with their kind of “customer service”, I just asked the issue to be escalated to the manager. PABLO reported everything to the manager. BUT THEN AGAIN, the duty manager that time SARAH was never welcoming and wouldn’t want to make the hotel guests happy – so when we went to her, WITHOUT ANY GREETINGS OR SO, she was already prepared with her defensive lines and blindly trusted what the restaurant supervisor had told her. She addressed us as if we are the villains in her story. She did not ever bother to ask how it has started and where we are coming from, she just argued with us. How unprofessional.nDear duty manager Sarah and Restaurant Supervisor Pablo, we were on a family holiday when we stayed in your hotel. We have prepared and had been looking forward for that short precious family time of ours. Just like YOU, we also work hard to earn, and to experience some time off work and be with our loved ones. You guys caused us so much disappointment during our stay in your hotel. We wanted that weekend to be happy and relaxing for our family. We have worked hard for that moment and as hotel guests, we deserve a quality customer service – NOT that kind of dealings we have experienced from you, SARAH and PABLO.nnTo be fair, I would like to commend the other hotel staff members especially during the evening shift and the housekeeping staff members, they have been kind, enthusiastic and doing everything they can to make their guests happy.
