Story

Abla Amad was born in Lebanon and arrived in Australia in 1954 at the age of nineteen. In 1979 at the urging of friends and family she opened Abla's, a restaurant that has become a Melbourne institution. Ever since it opened, diners have returned time and again to experience her special brand of traditional, homemade Lebanese food. For Abla it is a cuisine that can only be made from the heart - that's why she is widely regarded as 'the queen of Lebanese cooking'.

Great food. Good service. Portion size was a bit small.

Tried the banquet with 7 other people - $60 per head and it was very worth the price. The portions were generous and the grilled meats & dips were really delicious. Was not the biggest fan of the desserts, but the appetisers and the mains were great.

Very nice chicken, chicken is the best. Gold service, dips and meat are very nice

Banquet menu is a great way to get acquainted with their menu. Only downside was a lack of sauces/dips served with the meats
