Abbey Bridal is the Sydney Flagship store for the worldwide famous label Maggie Sottero, sister label Sottero & Midgley and now Rebecca Ingram! Maggie Sottero is known for its impeccable Styling and incomparable fit, without the exorbitant price tag. Sottero and Midgley now in its tenth collection is a division of the Maggie Sottero label is known for its more Haute Couture designs, as unique as the bride who wears it. Edit: added photos from the wedding day of the dress! I have been to Abbey Bridal before for my Mother who found her amazing dress last year. Everyone was lovely and it was a great experience. Today it was my turn to look for a dress! As a plus size woman size 22-24 I was feeling very anxious and nervous to look at dresses as I was worried my self confidence would plummet and I wouldn't find anything I liked. The second dress I tried on was the one! I felt and looked beautiful. The service here is amazing and the dresses are stunning. You won't be disappointed in your visit! Both times I have been to Abbey Bridal, we have walked away with our perfect dresses! You'll find yours too.
my experience here was so much fun not only did I find the dress of my dreams but my new husband says that it is the most beautiful dress he has ever seen. at my initial appointment I had an idea of what I wanted but it wasn’t until I started trying on a fit and flair dress at other stores, which would show off my figure that I knew exactly what I wanted. I had cancelled my second appointment by email but the ladies give me a call just to check in and when I described what I was after she insisted that I come back in to try and a dress that was perfect for me. not only was the timing perfect I was getting married in 5 weeks but it was just put on the rack and i didn’t have to wait for made to order and it was the same dress that her daughter had worn to her wedding. The ladies made us feel very welcome and included my future mother-in-law and made the whole experience a lot of fun! The personalised welcome sign at the front of the store was a nice touch as well as the social media posts once I bought the dress! I would highly recommend that all brides visit Abbey Bridal before going elsewhere not only did I save a tonne of money and got the picture perfect look but the whole experience was very easy and fun! there are a lot of options that are on the rack and it is my opinion that you don’t need to spend too much to find the perfect dress! I was told by my celebrant that the dirtier the dress at the end of the night, the more fun I would have, so you don’t need to spend a tonne to look amazing and at the end of the night, you won’t care about how clean it is. Go out, have your night, dance until your hearts content.
I’m sorry it’s taken so long to write this- I wanted it to be perfect. Brides to be - Go to Abbey Bridal first, because you won’t need to waste your time shopping elsewhere. From the moment my sisters and I walked in, we had a blast!! The store has so many welcoming touches from the minute you walk in. Amani was patience, I had absolutely no idea what I wanted and she was just so helpful - thank you. If you need a alternations, Quinnie couldn’t come recommended enough! On a person note: Quinnie from the moment my sisters & I met it was like we’ve always known you. You made us feel so welcome, so calm but also completely excited. Thank you for your hard work, that crazy attention to the detail and making my look complete. Suzanne & Amani, I really do condemn you on your level of professionalism. It was absolutely appalling to witness how you were treated and I’m just glad you weren’t tainted by this behaviour. you guys are exceptional and I truly hope our paths cross again.
I just had my wedding, wearing my beautiful dress from Abbey Bridal, and I almost don't know where to start with how perfect it was. I was helped by Suzanne, who is easily the greatest professional I have ever met. I told her I was after modern and sleek, she took one look at me, then came back with about twelve dresses. I could have bought any one of them. Each was perfect for my body shape, my skin tone, and some how- my personality! She just got me. So much so that one of the compliments I received most on my wedding day was, "It's just so you!" Suzanne was up against a hard task, because I only had six weeks 'til my wedding, but she really went the extra mile in making sure I could have my favourite dress, offering me the floor stock when it was apparent one could not be made for me in time. I am so grateful to her for being willing to do that. I was more than happy to take the floor stock because it was in pristine condition. Suzanne told me it was because, up until recently, everyone wore gloves. Personally, I would have been more than happy to wear gloves. These are delicate garments that should be treated with care, and it means that if a bride like me comes along - maybe someone with a short time span, or a smaller budget - and they need to buy the floor stock, they can still have a beautiful dress, not one that has been marked and dirtied. The whole experience was easy and enjoyable, and made me feel relaxed and excited about my choice and my wedding. I'm only sorry I couldn't spend all day in there trying on everything they had to offer. There is every style you could imagine! Any bride would be able to find their dream dress at Abbey Bridal, I'm confident in that. Oh! Not to mention how amazingly well priced everything is! I was staggered by how affordable my dress was. I have already recommended Abbey Bridal to a newly engaged friend, and I would recommend it - and particularly Suzanne's services - to anyone else. It was all sensational, and my dress so beautiful I think I might wear it every year on my anniversary, just for fun. I look forward to sharing more photos when the professional shots come in, but in the mean time, here's a nice one of the beautiful and interesting detail that made my dress as special as it is. Our Abbey Bridal experience was amazing - we interacted with most of the consultants throughout our appointment just by trying on different dresses and each one of them were friendly and helpful! Our consultant stayed within my budget and was receptive to my picky feedback about what I liked and what I didn't. It was so lovely to be able to try on dresses without feeling any pressure to buy also - just honest feedback from the consultant. Would recommend to any bride looking for a dress - particularly if it's your first time!!!
Abbey Bridal was the second bridal store I went to. Suzanne picked out four beautiful dresses for me to try based on what I told her had suited me best at the previous store I'd been to, the third of which was the one! Suzanne was fantastic, extremely knowledgeable and made the experience so enjoyable. I was nervous about going dress shopping as I tend to get self conscious, and I was worried that I would struggle to find something I loved, particularly as we only have just over 6 months till our wedding date. Suzanne was able to put in a speedy order for me so that it will arrive in early September allowing plenty of time for alterations. Whilst i was there I was also able to meet one of their highly recommended seamstresses, whom I now have an appointment with for when my dress arrives. I would highly recommend Abbey Bridal to anyone looking for their wedding dress and I would like to thank the wonderful Suzanne for helping me find the perfect dress!! Thank you also to Armani who added to the warm and welcoming experience we had at Abbey Bridal
Had a wonderful experience at Abbey Bridal! Beautiful, romantic and feminine dresses, and very reasonably priced! My stylist was Anna, she was so sweet and catered to my budget and style, great attention to detail and ended up picking my dress! ‘Summer’ by Maggie! The most whimsical and princessy dress I’ve ever worn. All the ladies in the shop were friendly and helpful. Thank you Anna and team for my amazing experience xx
I had such a wonderful experience at Abbey Bridal! From the first moment seeing the store I felt special, as I walked to the door my name was written on the welcome sign just outside. Lovely touch. I could not find fault with the Abbey Bridal store and the amazing experience Amanie provided us from the start to the end. Walking into the store we were greeted by Amanie who said she would be looking after us today. She introduced herself and asked who I had with me, which was my Mum. She was so friendly and explained how the appointment would go and if I had gone anywhere else so she knew my Wedding Dress shopping history. We completed the form that was required, and it was the first time we were asked my budget for my dress, which I found so helpful as she knew what to work within. This then helped her help me to find my dream dress! She made sure we were comfortable in our viewing area and was more than happy to allow us to Face-time my Sister and Sister-In-Law both currently in Melbourne so they could also be with my Mum and I when I tried on the dresses. The first dress I tried on; I had a strong and excited feeling this would be my dream dress! Amanie let me stay in the dress for a while before I decided to try on a few more dresses just to see. Amanie brought me an arrangement of dresses that suited the style I was looking for and talked me through each dress I had already said that I tried on different styles at earlier stores and didn’t need to try on those type again. I enjoyed trying on the dresses so much and could walk around in them being a weekday we were the only ones in store, which created such a lovely atmosphere. She involved my family and was very personable, which allowed me to feel so comfortable and happy throughout the whole experience. After trying on several dresses, I knew that the first dress I wanted to get back into and not take off. She helped back into my dress and even placed my hair in a low up-do so I could get the total picture with my dress and a veil. I was so happy to say Yes to the Dress! Amanie did not rush me out of my dress, allowed me to walk around the store with it on and really enjoy the moment. She was great in going through the ordering process too and was very clear about the details. Walking around the Abbey Bridal store is like a Wedding Dress dream. It is so beautiful, comfortable and with romantic songs playing in the background, the whole experience is wonderful. I would recommend Amanie and Abbey Bridal wholeheartedly to help you find your dream Wedding Dress! I cannot wait to go and pick up my dress next year when it arrives. Thank you for an amazing experience for myself and my Mum that we will never forget.
Today I was a walk-in customer at Abbey Bridal and I had just come from a previously booked appointment with another bridal shop where my experience was less than exciting. I was actually feeling quite upset and not really in the mood to try on dresses after the first bad experience but as soon as I walked into Abbey Bridal I was greeted with a smile by the lovely lady behind the desk. We were informed that they were completely booked out but if I put my name down and waited around an hour or two they would squeeze me in. I had my mum and sister with me and we decided to wait just incase I found a dress! After about an hour of waiting we were told Suzanne would take care of me even though she had another appointment booked in but she would attend to both of us and she did just that. She asked me what dresses I liked and we went around the shop and I showed her exactly what dresses I fancied and she let me try on all of the ones I chose without hesitation. As this was my first time trying on wedding dresses she helped me with the decision making process with some tips to help me decide and with her help I found my dress which I absolutely love. She was honest and told us to go and have lunch and think about it if I needed time and then come back but I was so happy with the dress that I decided to get it then and there. The service was incredible, the prices are excellent and I would recommend Abbey Bridal to anyone. Unlike my first experience in Eternal Bridal where there were way too many people booked in at the same time so you didn't even have room to look at any of the dresses, they had very little stock available to try on compared to what is advertised on their website and I was made to feel like I couldn't afford any of the dresses in there. It was very pretentious and unwelcoming. Abbey Bridal turned my day around and I couldn't thank the staff enough, especially Suzanne for her help. 10 out of 10!
My experience was great at Abbey. Suzanne was our consultant on the day. I was extremely fussy about my dress, and Suzanne took it in her stride and made helpful recommendations and took detailed feedback. I mentioned I was going upstairs for another appointment and Suzanne was extremely professional and easygoing saying she would book me in after to do any comparisons and stay back, she would make it work. In the end I purchased my gorgeous dress from Abbey Bridal, and I am so excited to wear it!
