Honestly the best fish and chips on the Northern Rivers, we've tried alot and everywhere in Ballina. Extremely fresh, really good batter, and it seemed as though even the potato scallop was homemade.  Prices are a little higher than other places, but the servings are big, and the quality and freshness is undeniable. Great service and not a huge wait considering how busy it was.

Excellent fish and chip shop with huge portions. I got the snack box for 1 person and it would have fed 2 people easily. Quality of seafood seemed fresh and local, service was great and nice place to sit and eat on the main street of Ballina.Food: 5/5

Friendly and quick service. The food was ridiculously fresh and probably the best value fish and chips I’ve had. We got the pack for 2 and could barely get through half of it!

Quick delivery to my table by the cashier, but the chicken was pink when I bit into it and another breast had blood. I told the cashier and he said that it must've been a vein. I'm not sure if they cooked it properly, as a few hours after, I have had bad aches in the stomach. Might try the fish next time, but not the chicken, if I ever go back.

We  travelled down from the Gold Coast so my daughter could play in an AFL game and we headed to Dory's Takaway on the 14th of May for dinner after my daughter's AFL game. I am so glad we did. The food was great and was a generous serving. We ordered two hamburgers and a seafood pack for 2 that my wife and son shared. With my son being a teenager and usually eats alot of food, he couldn't finish his meal it was that big. The staff were very friendly and were patient with us while we decided on what we wanted to order. I found the burger I ordered to be extremely well prepared and very generous with the toppings. My wife and son found the seafood basket was cooked perfectly and again there was a generous serving of food. I would say we definitely got our money's worth last night and I highly recommend going here lunch or dinner. When we head down Ballina way again, this takeaway store will be the 1st place that I will be going to for something to eat. I would most definitely go there again and I am trying to think of an excuse to go back there for a feed.

I popped in twice during my week up in the Northern Rivers, and I can say they are oh-fish-ially the best fish & chips I’ve had in forever! Amazing friendly staff, the fish tacos were delicious, and the chips were crunchy and super well seasoned! Will definitely be back, and to visit big sister restaurant Kelp next door.

Easily the best fish and chips we've had in Australia. Yep you read that right. I've been to countless fish and chips venues all over Australia in our travels and this one stands out by a mile. Fish perfectly cooked, generous size. Great batter. Friendly staff.

Came to Ballina to go camping at flat rock beach, perfect spot for some hot fish and chips. I got the American style burger with jalapeño sauce as an extra, and it was superb. Pattie was a little bit chewy towards the centre, but otherwise the ingredients were fresh, delicious and presented very well. Hot chips were to die for, been in the northern rivers for my whole life, had all the hot chips from anywhere local, but the chips from dory’s takes the cake. My partner got battered dory with the aforementioned delicious chips. Batter was delicious, fish was moist and fresh. Cheers dory’s!

I had the Barramundi fish with salad, The salad was so fresh and the fish was amazing ! It's not the frozen fish finger taste, It's real fish. Best fish I have ever eaten, It's like it's just been caught out of the ocean and the crumb on it was great, not oily : I will definitely be a regular. Also Staff were very friendly and had quick service. Thank you so very much.

Great fresh seafood and takeaway. I always get the snapper wrap and its fabulous. Had to share my leftover sweet potato chips with the seagulls as there was so many. Staff are friendly. Highly recommend.
