We gave this place three chances to get it right, just because it's my closest chippy. Every time the food was dreadful. The fried food soaked up a lot of oil which suggests their oil wasn't hot enough when they began cooking. On top of that it was also over cooked. The potato cakes were like solid biscuits, harder than teeth enamel. The burgers were decent, though a little under cooked. Unless you just want a burger, I'd give this place a miss. Oh.. I almost forgot: the South Melbourne Dim Sims on the menu are NOT South Melbourne Dimmies... Dodgy Bastards.

food is very greasy, not the greatest... given them a few chances but last time the kid taking our order was completely clueless and we ended up with someone else's order

Excellent food and service and such a nice place to get fish and chips. Highly recommend them.

Everything is soggy and greasy, the fish smells horribly, the potato cakes were undercooked, the chicken burger was a cheap crumbed reconstituted patty and overall it was the worst fish and chips I've ever had. Beware this place!

By and large, excellent F&C INCLUDING excellent gluten free F&C. Three caveats. 1. Like most F&C, it can be a little variable (depending on when they change their oil, etc). 2. None of the people who work there have English as a first language. Bear that in mind when you place your order, be clear and have a little understanding. 3. They are HOPELESS at estimating time. They will tell you 15 minutes and it might end up being 25 or 30. Or it might be 15. BUT IT'S WORTH IT - THE FOOD IS GREAT.
