Wunderbar is an absolute Christchurch institution. The atmosphere is unlike anywhere else—quirky, authentic, and packed with character. Whether it's live music, comedy, or just a few drinks with mates, there's always something happening and the vibe is unbeatable.nThe staff are friendly, the drinks are great, and the whole place has that unique alternative feel that makes every visit memorable. If you're looking for a bar with personality, good people, and a genuine local culture, Wunderbar is a must-visit.
Popped into the Wunderbar for a few drinks after dinner. Barman was friendly, efficient and poured great gins and margaritas. Bar has a uniquely cool vibe, and a great view.
Attended a gig for the first time at Wunderbar and the view over the Port is amazing! You have to see for yourself Such perfect timing to be able to watch the sunset, atmosphere of the place was welcoming and people were great. Staff are inviting and service was lovely. It is a little small specially if your holding a gig with only one toilet and small separate closed in room that couldn't hold everyone attending. But the balcony was perfect for getting fresh air, star gazing and a pool table to enjoy a few games. Overall a lovely bar to visit
Beautiful place, totally a pub like feel. Dim lights and great themed ambiance. This place has amazing games for the entertainment. A good place to sit with mates and have drinks. The lady who served us was very helpful!nDefinitely will be back….
Had a female friend inappropriately assaulted by another patron. She was hugged and bitten on the neck without consent. She felt very upset and uncomfortable. We went to the owner/manager and he asked her to point him out. He spoke to the man and ended up hugging him. Telling us that it was her fault because she told him Happy Birthday and it's normal because he's Brazilian. He kicked us out and told us we were a bunch of losers and not too come back. The owner was seen by multiple people in our friend group drinking behind the bar while acting as Duty manager the whole night. Seriously disappointed in this owner and the way he handled inappropriate behavior towards women in his bar. Women deserve to feel safe in his place of business. Never going back and will make sure everyone knows how he handles assault against women.
