I recently visited Countdown formerly Woolworths Nelson and was pleasantly surprised by the extensive variety of brands and options available despite its smaller size compared to P&S. The supermarket's strategic rebranding hasn't just changed the name but seems to have brought about a positive shift in the shopping experience.nnWhat sets Countdown apart is its well-curated selection, providing a diverse range of brands that cater to different preferences and tastes. From pantry staples to specialty items, the supermarket manages to offer an impressive array of choices. This variety not only enhances the overall shopping experience but also ensures that customers can find exactly what they're looking for, making it a one-stop destination for all their grocery needs.nnDespite its smaller footprint, Countdown maximizes its space efficiently, creating a shopping environment that is both navigable and well-organized. The layout facilitates easy browsing, and the staff is readily available to assist if needed. The convenience of a compact store with an extensive selection is undoubtedly a winning combination for shoppers.nnAdditionally, I appreciate the attention to detail in terms of cleanliness and organization. The shelves are well-stocked, and the aisles are neat, contributing to a pleasant and stress-free shopping experience.nnIn conclusion, Countdown formerly Woolworths Nelson has successfully carved its niche by providing a wide range of options, proving that size doesn't compromise variety. The rebranding seems to have brought a positive change, making it a top choice for those seeking convenience, diversity, and a well-rounded grocery shopping experience.
Amazing Woolworth! Super new and flashy, however the Bakery section was empty and we stopped by just past noon.nnThere didn't seem to be much staff on the floor, however checkout times were quick, much quicker than pak n save normally.nnPrice wise, nothing to surprising, you pay for the convenience and luxury of a nice big store, with slightly higher prices than pak n save, however still usually beats out New World, and they do pay their staff better wages than the competition.
Love the team here, friendly and professional. Store layout is great, really enjoy the vibe of this store, with its modern music.nnThanks team.
I started with delivery on line orders due to medical reasons. Now I can go in, it's still awesome. The meat is so fresh, groceries are cheaper. All round a good place to shop. Very clean place and the staff are awesome.
Reasonably new store and recently converted to a WoolworthsnnGenerally happy with the offerings of this store. There’s an electric wheelchair available for elderly customers should they need it. Ask at customer service counter for its keynnStore is clean, uncluttered and modern. Occasionally the deli department is “unmanned” which you either have to ring the bell or go looking for a staff member if you are wishing to purchase from the deli.nnPrices like most NZ duopoly’s have increased sharply. I always find out what’s on sale and cater my diet around the sales only as I’m not wealthy…. Works very well 90% of the time.nnStaff inside the store are fairly good as well. They seem to hire more younger and elderly folk which is good. Store is of a decent size with pretty much everything you could need or want and a better range on offer than down at the Stoke store.
