Woolworths Pukekohe, located in the heart of the town centre, is a popular spot for locals to do their grocery shopping. The store is clean and well-organised, with wide aisles and a layout that makes it easy to find what you need. Staff are generally friendly and helpful, especially at the checkout and customer service desks. Many shoppers appreciate the convenient opening hours, which make it easy to pop in after work or during the weekend rush. There’s also plenty of parking nearby, which adds to the overall convenience.nnDespite the positives, there are a few areas where the store could improve. Some customers have noted that stock levels can be inconsistent, especially when it comes to popular sale items or fresh produce during peak times. Pricing can also be an issue, with Woolworths often seen as slightly more expensive compared to Pak’nSave and Countdown in surrounding areas. Occasionally, special deals advertised on shelves don’t match what scans at the register, so it pays to keep an eye on your receipt.nnThe Pukekohe town centre itself is vibrant and continues to grow, with a mix of retail, cafes, and essential services nearby. However, with that growth has come more traffic and busier footpaths, especially during weekends and market days. While this adds to the energy of the area, it can make the store feel more crowded at certain times.nnAll in all, Woolworths Pukekohe offers a solid shopping experience for everyday essentials. It stands out for its cleanliness, friendly service, and central location, though some shoppers might look to other stores for better value or more consistent stock. For locals, though, it remains a trusted and convenient part of their weekly routine.
Currently undergoing a major renovation to provide a state of the art supermarket in the heart of Pukekohe. The store has been extended as has the car park. The new fit out is crisp and clean, making shopping at the store a much improved shopping experience
I am disappointed with the behaviour of two Woolworths staff members, Vanessa and Lia, during an incident today. My friend’s wife and her niece were treated disrespectfully while attempting to purchase beer for me.nnWhile I understand and respect Woolworths’ ID policy, the staff members’ manner was unprofessional. They asked the customers to stop talking and leave the store while they were calmly trying to explain that they were willing to pay separately due to the ID requirement.nnPolicies should be enforced respectfully, and the service provided fell well below that standard.
Very disappointing experience at this Woolworths store today due to disrespectful and unprofessional behaviour from staff members named Vanessa and Lia.nnMy friend’s wife and her niece visited the store to purchase beer for me and my friend, as we had already had a couple of beers and responsibly chose not to drive. I completely understand that there are policies in place around alcohol sales, and I respect those rules.nnHowever, that does not justify speaking rudely to customers, telling them to stop talking, or asking them to leave the store while they were calmly trying to explain the situation. They even offered to pay separately if there was an issue with providing a physical ID instead of a digital one, but this was not handled with any courtesy or professionalism.
I had a very disappointing experience with two staff members, Vanessa and Lia, at this store.nnWhile paying for our things, Vanessa asked for ID. I showed my passport on my phone, and she said she needed physical ID. That was fine. My aunt then said she had her physical ID and could show it. Vanessa responded rudely, saying, “I am not talking to you,” and refused to engage respectfully.nnMy aunt then explained that she was happy to show her physical ID and pay, but Vanessa continued to be dismissive and would not listen. The situation escalated unnecessarily, and instead of resolving it calmly, her colleague Lia told us to leave without even hearing our side of the story.nnThe way we were spoken to felt disrespectful and discriminatory. There was no attempt to communicate politely or explain the policy properly. As customers, especially members of the local community, we expected to be treated with basic courtesy.nnI hope management looks into this, as this kind of behaviour reflects poorly on the store and makes customers feel unwelcome.
