Situated on 12 acres of private park lands, both guest rooms boasts extensive views of the Hauraki Gulf and surrounding landscapes.
We also produce award winning olive oil - Woodside Bay Olive Oil - available for tasting and purchase.

Story

The extra virgin olive oil created from this small olive grove located above Woodside Bay, Waiheke Island has won Best in Class at the 2016 New Zealand Olive Oil Awards on its first ever foray into this market, which is known for its very exacting standards.
More than half of the trees in the grove produce koroneki olives which are small but very generous in the oil they yield. The koroneki olives have a peppery flavour which is mellowed by being blended with the softer flavours of the verdale and frantoia olives that grow alongside.

The olives are hand picked each May in a few leisurely days of harvest, with friends and laughter and sunshine. The fruit is then pressed at the local Rangihoua press, where the oil is also bottled. It is rested for a year or so, further mellowing the flavours to produce an extra virgin olive oil of the very finest quality, with the perfect balance of flavour and maturity.

Stayed at Woodside a number of times and would not hesitate to go back. All the facilities in the lodges, dishwasher etc. so you can still have a lovely relaxing time even though self-catering with a dog. Quiet, peaceful setting and everything you could want within easy reach. Would have been a 5 star review but lodge was not quite as clean as usual on arrival with fluff and hair in corners of some rooms but that has not been a problem previously so hope it is a one off.
A reasonable place for holiday accommodation. It a very tranquil park which is very aesthetically pleasing. The living area of the lodge was great. Enough space in the seating and dining areas as well as the kitchen. The veranda was also lovely and the hot tub was wonderful. The main bedroom was a good size with good storage but the other 2 were very small. There was a small amount or wardrobe space in each but no draws or shelves. We have stayed in a wide range of UK holiday accommodation and have had to be creative with storage but this was a real challenge, especially for 10 days! It was hard to find somewhere to store our dirty washing! We did have a couple of issues when we first arrived but these were sorted very promptly after they were reported. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. They could not be faulted. This park is marketed as 5 star luxury. I would disgree with this! Its lovely but certainly not 5 star and certainly not luxury.
A lovely place to spend some down time. Lodges are spacious and comfortable, with all mod. cons.and with a spacious balcony. It has a small beach and lovely woodlands for walks in the area. There is also a very nice clubhouse, which has a bar, food & lots of outside areas to sit & stare. A really comfortable place to recharge the batteries and enjoy life!
Stayed for three nights. Beds were awesome best night sleep in ages. Hot tub was good or though got told we could arrive early at our lodge and found the cold water still running in the hot tub so was cold and took a whole evening to get warm. But apart from that everything in the lodge was excellent
Lovely staff and a beautiful lodge. Very clean, spacious and comfortable. The resort has no pool or entertainment but not a problem for us. The setting is peaceful and there are lots of lovely walks and a small beach nearby. Would definitely go again.
Just back from a lovely holiday in the IOW. Lovely accommodation and holiday park. The staff were helpful and very friendly. Only 4 stars as the lodge wasn't as clean as it should have been. It was clear that it was a quick job. We had a few snags including our boiler breaking, meaning we needed to use another lodge to shower. They were all dealt with well - the staff couldn't have done anything better. Just a few annoying things. I would definitely go back and recommend Darwin Escapes.
Accommodation is great you've got everything you need. It's self catering but plenty of shops and take aways nearby and can order food to be delivered. Very peaceful here and it's so easy to get about either car or bike. Would definitely come back here
Lovely time! Perfect way to spend a weekend away. No complaints, all the staff was lovely and when we had issues with the heating they were out quickly to sort it out for us. Will definitely be back in the future!
Lovely lodge with a great view of the sea. We enjoyed nice, quick woodland walk to the beach. Great location with some lovely nearby pubs Cedars is delicious. Lodges really good such a bug, comfortable beds. Could be cleaner eg our socks became grubby immediately, suggesting the floor needs a deeper clean. The restaurant/bar on site isnt serving food inside, only takeaway, so have to take the food back to the lodge although the bar is open... dont know why we couldn't just then eat in the bar, would've meant we spent more money buying drinks etc! The restaurant is also closed for takeaway for 2 of the days. The site is a lovely place, but could do with a little play park for children.
A beautiful place to stay while on the Isle of Wight. The location is perfect for Newport and the ferry terminal and also so close to a lovely beach and woodland walk. The place itself was clean and very comfortable. I look forward to coming back next year.
