If someone can't see the wood for the trees, they are unable to understand what is important in a situation because they are giving too much attention to detail. This simple phrase broadly covers all forms of mental illness.
Sound like a close friend or family member? This group has been formed off the back of 2 close friends over a 14 year period checking out voluntarily with two very different mental illnesses.
In NZ 50% of all adults suffer a mental illness in their life, so we need to be aware and reach out and make sure we are giving advice and guidance when our nearest and dearest simply can't see the wood for the trees. Talking with them and various forms of support are best and something we can all do to help in these situations. Wood For the Trees Charitable trust has been formed to simply give another platform to help those loved one battling demons.

We are a registered charity that is giving the funds raised to other charitable trusts and community group who support mental health in NZ. In 2016-2017 we lost 606 people to suicide and our simple aim is to reduce this.
