
The Women’s Centre Rodney is a Warkworth based charity offering support, resources, and skills for women & their children within the Rodney district.
The Centre is a safe, women only space where women can call in to meet with other women or representatives from other agencies as required.
The Centre staff work towards and with women to support, empower and inform and their core values are equality and empowerment for all women.
Women's Centre Rodney is a community-based organisation providing a wealth of information and services to women, teenage girls and children.
We work towards empowerment, offering education, healing and recovery for all women and their families in the community.
The Centre provides courses and projects to fulfill the needs that arise for women in our community.
We seek to address feminist goals which empower, support, educate and resource women to lead full and meaningful lives.
We work towards social injustice and equality.
The Centre is a safe, confidential, women-only space to sit quietly or link up with others.
WOMEN’S CENTRE RODNEY CORE SERVICES
• Drop in: The Warkworth Centre is a space to sit quietly in a safe, caring and confidential environment, link up with others, or browse our library. We welcome mothers to drop in to change and feed their baby.
• Information & Referrals: We offer a variety of resources, including pamphlets, noticeboards, booklets & flyers which give up-to-date information on community groups & services, health issues, legal issues such as protection orders or custody, budgeting, employment, WINZ & IRD.
• Support Groups & Courses: We offer a variety of affordable courses throughout the year with a new programme offered each school term. Courses are held in various locations in the Rodney district, including Warkworth and Wellsford.
• Counselling: We offer safe, supportive, low-cost individual sessions with a trained therapist in Warkworth and Wellsford.
• Computer & Internet: Computer & Internet available for up to one hour, bookings preferable. Low cost photocopying also available.
• Pregnancy Tests & Condoms: Free pregnancy test kits and condoms are available on request.
• Advocacy: Staff can advocate with clients if required with statuary organisations such as WINZ and IRD.
