This was our favorite thrill experience on the entire South Island! The jet boat was so much fun and we loved it so much that we wanted to go again. The scenery that you see from the boat is GORGEOUS! The color of the water is magical and we really enjoyed our wilderness hike to the jet boat pickup spot. Did this as part of the Heli Siberia Max tour with Backcountry Helicopters and couldn't recommend it enough!! 10/10 one of the best experiences you could do in the area!! Book it already :
Did the Siberia Adventure day trip with Wilkin River Jets & Backcountry Helicopters this season and can't recommend it enough. Amazing flight into the National Park, followed by a couple hours hiking down to Kerin Forks where we met the jet boat. The driver gave some great info into the history of the valley, and threw in some spins as we headed back to Makarora. Highlight of our South Island trip!
We really enjoy the experience! Great guides, they know a lot about the area, and they’re great jet boat drivers, you feel super safe. Will definitely do it again
Thank you guys very much to rescue me from flooding river. I was finishing my trip at Gillespie Pass Circuit in a rain condition and river was flooding a lot. After two attempts to cross the river I was wet and cold it was obvious I don’t have chance to do it. It was Anzac holiday I was pretty sure to get anyone for rescue is impossible but after short call to guys they understood what’s going on. It took half hour to bring and get boat in the river for them incredible fast job. Was so glad to see you then. Thank you again , great team.
We did their Siberian Wilderness Adventure extended and had the BEST day ever - wish we could give them 10 stars! A helicopter flight across mountain glaciers and an alpine landing, a great walk out of Siberia valley through wonderful nature, and then a jet boat ride down the crystal blue Wilkin river - it doesn't get better than that! Best value for helicopter flying money in NZ for sure!
Harley was a great boat driver during our Gillespie Pass Circuit tramp. Also, we accidentally left some cookware behind at Siberia Hut and Amy went above and beyond to coordinate someone to retrieve it for us and also track it down when it got dropped off at the wrong location. We so appreciate her help, truly incredible customer service!
Such an incredible experience. Simon our skipper of the 60 min jet boat ride was fantastic, super personable, knowledgeable about the area and the kids loved the 360 spins. Georgina in logistics has impeccable customer service. Her knowledge about the weather and water and how she explained that to people who were hiking out for jet boat collection up the Wilkin was impressive. Thanks for an awesome experience, you couldn't wipe the smiles off our faces.
Best Jet boat experience in NZ. Awesome kiwi family owned and operated. Very authentic and informative kiwi experience. Every passenger is looked after very well. Unlike other corporate operators.
My family of 4 has the most incredible time on the Wilkin River Jet ride on the Makarora and Wilkin rivers. They accommodated our baby and toddler who both absolutely loved the experience as we explored truly spectacular terrain in some of the clearest water we have ever seen. If you’re in the area or planning a visit to the region, this is an absolute must do. Thanks for having us.
We used the jetboat for our transfers to and from the Gillespie Pass Circuit Into Young Valley and out from Kerin Forks. Wilkin River Jets was great in communicating regarding booking spaces on the boats, and our transfers were punctual and stress-free. Definitely worth it not having to do a river crossing, and it was nice to take a spin along some very picturesque rivers. They do a great job with access to the mountains.
