Story

Siberia Experience - Fly-Walk-Jetboat is a 4 hour unique wilderness nature experience in Mt Aspiring National Park. Your adventure begins in the small mountain village of Makarora - approx 45mins drive from Wanaka. Come and meet us at our desk at the local Tourist Centre and Cafe to check in and get ready for an unforgettable encounter with nature. The cafe serves great coffee and a variety of tasty treats. You may choose to purchase a picnic lunch to take to Siberia.Picnic lunch or not , the views and memories will be etched in your mind for years to come. You begin your day with an aeroplane flight through the spectacular National Park enjoying views of glaciers, tumbling waterfalls, mountain tarns and moraine lakes hidden amongst the rugged Southern Alps. Everyone has a window seat to view the ever changing landscape for 25minutes before landing in the remote Siberia Valley. Once landed you will step out of the plane on to the valley floor, look around and you will feel special. You are special, here in this pristine wilderness valley known as Siberia, a World Heritage zone - surrounded by the towering New Zealand Southern Alps...... Once you have caught your breath your pilot will brief you on the track and the great walk ahead. The walking track crosses the crystal clear Siberia stream leading from the valley floor into native beech forest. The track - dotted with great viewing spots, lush native forest and clear tumbling mountain streams leads you to the Wilkin Valley (3 hours) where your mountain river jetboat safari begins. Once you have arrrived at the pick up point beside the glacially fed Wilkin River the jetboat will whisk you downstream through even more amazing scenery on a fun 30 minute ride back to Makarora again.
