I am a Year 11 student at this school, and it has its ups and downs. Some of its downs include the smelly bathrooms, the ridiculous canteen prices who would spend $5.50 on a burger that doesn't even taste that good, and teachers who sometimes don't even know what they are doing. On the flip side, I have made some really amazing friendships, learned some things about myself that I never would have thought of, and am enjoying learning at school. Even though it's true that school can be challenging, but sometimes it is meant to be, we can learn a lot about ourselves and the people around us. Sorry about my long and perhaps cringy rant, but that is what I have to say about this school.
very good school, HOWEVER one huge flaw unfortunately they wouldn't let me enroll as a 43 year old male i cant believe this violation of my rights
i would just like to say this school did not empower me. good facilities though
Stupid school my girls got jumped in this school for nothing that they did and the deans here are USELESS
I regret sending my daughter here, spent 3 wasted years here, always having problems with teacher's.
Just standing by the review on my old account, had one good teacher and she left so I did too and went to T.A.S- way better options even though it's out in the country and improved my whole outlook on education as a whole. This school breaks childrens spirits and their love for their passions. They don't care for their students they care about the money your student is bringing in.
very explicit school. filled with inmature monkeys and nickenpoops. disloyal students and horrible hygiene. the only thing that is packing is the male teachers, with humongous glungus boobzas and a packing cake for the feasty students. nice teacher who looks like daniel randcliffe is cool. ilike art teachers and your students all hate each other. canteen food could be better and is abit overpriced for my taste. even my rich nana says the food is wayyyyyyyyy to exspensive. 4 dollars for 3 chips abit niche if i do say so myself. all my beauty and excessive love and all hope - your mother
Moved from Auckland to here to start high school. Quite possibly my most regretted experience. Everyday I wake up at the a** crack of dawn, realize I have to go to another day at wghs, put on mascara and pray nobody makes fun of me for existing, and go on the vape central moldy bus if it hasn't broken down yet. The academic teachers expect all the students to have already gone to Harvard, and if you cant keep up its a you problem. I know if a parent is reading this, you might think im being excessive. But if you let your children buy canteen food from this school, you will be bankrupt in a very short amount of days. wghs is filled with false promises and the exterior of a gobsmakingly hideous paint pallet completes the depressing landscape that is this place. If I could rate it a negative. Trust me, the star would be in hell already with everyone else had that the misfortune of going to this school. Thanks for reading my Ted talk. Anyways stan Paul Dano
Had a great day at the Whangarei Roadshow Event hosted by the school. Great hospitality and well organised. Special thanks to the students who took part to facilitate the event. We were well looked after. Also great engagement with teachers and students.
Great school. Lots of opportunities and great teachers. Variety of class options and support through out school. Prices themselves on supporting students in however they represent the school at a national level including sport and cooking. Highly recommended sending your daughter here
