As a student i can say that if you love your kids don't send them here, The students here are very rude and toxic and allot of the older students will trick you into opening the bins and throw you in them.The school grounds are absolutely disgusting and are filled with trash,rotting food,plastic,and cans its so bad we had to change the campus but its just going to happen again. Some of the good sides are the options but allot are not like they sound which is really annoying,
I worked at this school and was appalled at the attitude of the Principal Karen Gilbert Smith who stated to me that I was not to report student to student abuse and bullying and that I also should come to work and expect to have abuse including furniture thrown at me. I raised my concerns with the school through NZEI but the Union is also absolutely useless and simply allows Karen allow the abuse to thrive. I raised my concerns with parliament and the Ministry of Education but nobody did anything. I would not send anyone I know to this school, the teachers are fantastic but abuse thrives because of Karen Gilbert Smith.
Digusting i am a student In University and it horrifys me that u would only have sorry about 1-2 teachers on that trip you knew that the weather would be appauling and dissruptive to the trip this is not how a school should be they need to main order and know what is right and whats wrong when should be the start and when should be the end your school is a horrifying place now for what you have concured to everything rest in peace to the boy that lost his life he did not deserve this the blood is in your hands

So devastating what happened to that poor boy and thoughts and prayers are w the family during this time. Absolutely disgusting on behalf of this trash school. The weather has been like this for a week and you still send them out. Do not send your children here. Trying to look for sympathy where you can’t find it.
Who ever let the children go on there field trip needs to be held accountable weather warning were put in place days prior rip to the student I hope he gets justice
Incompetent decision making by multiple people involved with the school directly resulted in the death of a student. Until the principal, BOT, and head of outdoor education are all replaced don't send your kids here.
Who in their right mind sends CHILDREN caving in bad weather and also has the school close early because of the bad weather?? Furst rule of ODE I was taught was check the weather/don't go if there is bad weather!!
tbh very bad school, the teachers are mostly great but everything else is horrible. also it was so irresponsible to let them go on that trip, and I don't have high expectations to what the school/principal is going to say
