Small family-run Holiday Park & Backpackers a 2-minute walk away from beautiful Whangarei Falls and scenic walking tracks.

Story

We are a cosy backpackers and holiday park in a semi-rural setting two minutes’ walk away from the beautiful Whangarei Waterfalls and scenic walking tracks. Stroll to town along bush lined riverside walks or laze the day away beside the swimming pool. Evenings are for soaking in the hot tub and sharing stories around the BBQ.

Our aim is to provide clean comfortable accommodation in a relaxed friendly atmosphere.

Located 5kms north east of Whangarei City centre on the Twin Coast Highway we provide an ideal base for diving and exploring the Poor Knight Islands.

Beautiful coastal beaches and Tutukaka with its marina are a short drive away.

We can organise diving, snorkelling and kayaking at the Poor Knights with arranged transport from the front gate available.

Local bus stops, shops and a supermarket are within a short walk.

Stayed here in a campervan and would recommend it. Nice clean facilities, including BBQ and pool, and check out time was flexible allowing us to visit the waterfall.Rooms: 4/5
It was a beautiful location, everything was spotlessly clean and staff very friendly. Only downside someone was playing music loud and it was going to midnight.Location: 5/5
Really nice and cheap place to stay. Rooms were very clean and tidy and were given heaters since it was winter. Facilities were great also with all the majors you needed and toilets clean. Showers were hot. Would have been great if the kitchenettes in the cabins had a sink but you got a microwave, toaster, jug and fridge. Would go back.
Very clean and well maintained. Quite a walk from the budget cabins to the loo. Also no water in the budget cabins, but there is a tap nearby. Plenty of parking. Nice pool with seats and shade.
The place is pretty dated but the amenities are good and it's clean. The lounge needs new furniture. Overall I would highly recommend it if you want cheap family accommodation. The pools great for the kids. Everyone was friendly and there were no problems while we were there apart from the spa pool being out of order and they had trouble getting it fixed over the Xmas period. The owner Martin is really on to it and takes very good care of the place.
Great place to stay! We ended up staying for a few weeks. Tidy, well appointed cabins. The grounds are kept beautifully for tents and campervans. The pool, spa, showering and bathroom facilities are kept lovely and clean. Has a nice large kitchen for cooking meals, and seating around the park for outside dining. Very friendly and approachable staff.
It's a perfect place for backpackers or those who are looking for low-cost hostels around Whangarei. It is clean and comfortable. There is a mini pool as well. There is kitchen for anyone who wants to cook and also washing machine for those who wish to wash their clothes. Service is good too, staffs are friendly and helpful :Rooms: 4/5

Really nice. All the facilities in good shape, I really loved the small kitchen in every room. They have a common room with tv and PCs and the staff is really friendly and helpful. The Wi-Fi was kinda annoying, you had to go and get a new voucher every time and it would sometimes stop working. The surroundings are really nice, the waterfall is only three minutes away and if you want to do some hikes they will give you a map ans explain the main ones to you right when you check in! If you don't have a car it's a little effort to go grocery shopping though, because the countdown is about twenty minutes away. Other than that I've had a really good stay there!
Flooded, terrible, no rooms available. Catering service was awful. Didn't even offer breakfast delivery. Location was loud and way to open. 0/10Rooms: 1/5
