What a fantastic spot! We visited with a large group during our annual conference, and the team at the Whangamatā Ocean Sports Club were incredibly welcoming and patient with us—we were definitely a happy and slightly noisy! bunch.nnThe food was excellent, with everyone in our group really enjoying their meals, and the staff were so friendly and accommodating throughout the evening. We even happened to be there during the famous meat raffle, which made for a fun local experience and was an unexpected bonus!nnA special mention has to go to the margaritas—they were absolutely fantastic!nnIf you're looking for great food, friendly service, and a relaxed Whangamatā atmosphere, I'd highly recommend stopping in. Thanks to the whole team for a great night!nn- The Team at Central Landscape Supplies
# Whangamata WharfnnWhangamata Wharf is a brilliant spot if you're after a good swim and a bit of fun. The beach is beautiful—exactly what you'd hope for when you head to the Coromandel—and it's the kind of place where everyone from toddlers to teenagers can enjoy.nnThe wharf is the main drawcard. It's perfect for diving or doing bombs if that's your thing, though you'll want to time it right. Middle to high tide is when you want to be there—the water's deep enough then to jump safely. There's a bit of current running through, which actually makes it more fun, but it's nothing crazy. Just keep an eye on little kids and you'll be fine. I did see a few little ones float away but I think they got rescued by parents.nnWhat's really handy is the platform they've got floating out there close to the shore. Kids love swimming out to it and jumping off, and because it's not far from the beach, it's not a drama for younger or less confident swimmers to give it a go.nnThe practical stuff: there are toilets on site, and parking is decent enough, though you might need to walk a couple of hundred meters if it's busy. Not ideal, but not the end of the world either.nnAll in all, it's just a really good, versatile swimming spot. Whether you want to throw yourself off the wharf or just paddle around in the shallows with the kids, it works well.
A five star viewnStaff very attentivenGreat selection of beveragesnWe had over a few times there great meals, I especially like the sashimi, wife likes the exceptional beef burger. But I'm sure it's all good.
Great location and view. You’ll be charged for extra $5 per person as a temporary member to dine in if u order drinks.
Absolutely outstanding dinner! Props to the chefs, the food was incredible and came out in such a timely manner, also accommodated for intense dietaries. Delwyn, served us and she was just fantastic, she was so happy to help, and really catered for such a big group. She also helped with accomodating for dietaries. Also not to mention the presentation and set up of the table was amazing. Stunning views as well! Huge thank you to all involved tonight! Will be back :
